to save everyone some time and sanity this is how michael summarizes us. "they hate the government and they want the centralized planning, but they want the centralized planning not in government but in the hands of bankers and so they are trying to get actually democrats, democratic people and the working class and the middle class to say if you get rid of government controls, if you deregulate the banks you dont have consumer protection you let the criminals take over. the criminals will run the economy just wonderfully, get rid of the government, centrallized planning in citi bank jp morgan and bank of america and youll have utopia. thats insane but thats what they believe."
max "ok so its something of a market based priesthood where the markets are infallible."
michael at least has the decency to refute this and let max know that "a thief is not market based" and that pointing a gun to somebodies head and stealing their money is not a market transaction it is a crime. to me this is a direct contradiction to how he summarized austrian economists. these people dont understand basic theories.
i often hear people describing a free society as utopia. these people are so backwards, we are the ones that understand humans are imperfect and that there is no perfect or utopian system. they are the ones trying to engineer utopia. and if they also understand humans are imperfect, then government is just as inept as the markets to construct their desired utopia.
