Last month, a $23 million deal shrouded in secrecy became the third-priciest residential transaction in Washington, D.C., history.

At the time, rumors circulated in the D.C. real estate circuit that the buyer was someone high profile, probably someone associated with the new Trump administration.

Turns out, it was Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan.

“I can confirm that Mark and Priscilla have purchased a home in D.C., which will allow Mark to spend more time there as Meta continues the work on policy issues related to American technology leadership,” the spokesperson said in an email.

In January, media outlets reported that Zuckerberg was searching for a home in the D.C. area, as he planned to work closely with the Trump administration.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, the CEO of investment giant Cantor Fitzgerald, paid $25 million in cash for his new home in D.C.'s Foxhall neighborhood, according to media reports. David Sacks, the PayPal co-founder Trump appointed as his “White House A.I. & crypto czar,” purchased a $10.3 million penthouse in Northwest D.C., as Axios first reported.
