White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement on Wednesday that Zelensky will join President Joe Biden at the White House for the announcement of a "significant new package of security assistance."

While the time has not been confirmed officially, Zelensky's joint address to Congress is currently scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Axios reported, citing two sources familiar with the plan.

"Timing is subject to change, but this is the current plan, and he will go to the Capitol after his meeting (and) press conference with Biden," tweeted Axios reporter Alayna Treene. Newsweek has contacted the White House for comment.

I think it's foolish to think that's his only motivation. Neocons really see Russia as a financial threat to world security and US Dollar supremacy. The idea is to prolong the conflict as much as possible to try to drain Russia dry. When the Russian populace finally gets exacerbated, the hope is they'll turn on their own government. In the fallout, maybe we get a regime that is more willing to play in the US imperial world order. If not, then at least they'll be in shambles and incapable of threatening the current reserve currency.

And hey, if our MIC makes tons of money in the process, then it's a win/win. (so sorry for any lives lost in the tragedy)

It is amazing that a country with a population of a mere 150 million people can upset the West to such an extent.

Russia is very fortunate to have inherited a solid self defense infrastructure from the Soviet Union and have learned their lesson about what happens when you drop your guard against the West.

On Tuesday, Zelensky released a video revealing he will tell Biden and Congress $45 billion is still not enough support.

“We are not in an easy situation. The enemy is increasing its army. Our people are braver and need more powerful weapons,” he said about the Ukrainian war. “We will pass it on from the boys to the Congress, to the president of the United States. We are grateful for their support, but it is not enough. It is a hint — it is not enough.”

Zelensky’s claim that $45 billion is not enough aid – on top of the already approved $66 billion – comes as the omnibus bill is expected to approve a military budget of about $858 billion, $45 billion more than Biden had requested from taxpayers.
