McCain, Like Hope but different video.

Bump it, digg it, fave it, rate it, post it, blog it, link it, share it, make it viral!

How will it destroy McCain?

Did you notice it was uploaded today but already has almost 30k views?

This is going viral.

We already know many people do not realize McCain is pro-war for some strange reason. This makes it abundantly clear. And it does so in a way that ridicules him.

You want a way to convince people McCain is pro-war? This is it.

It's obviously less effective on pro-war people, but that's a different battle.

How will it destroy McCain?

The assumption is that all the people who voted for McCain also use YouTube, so they will see this and go "oh, maybe I don't want to vote for him" after watching the video.

Wishful thinking, I know.

You're absolutely right.

Instead of using what got most of us here in the first place to our advantage, we should reject it and dismiss it.

I mean, heck, I only convinced tons of friends and family (who don't normally use youtube) to vote Ron Paul thanks to the many great vids people put out. Obviously that was wishful thinking too.

I think... I think I'm seeing the light! Finally! No more campaign contributions! Forget youtube! No blimp!

And yes, MOST IMPORTANTLY, don't vote for Ron Paul, vote for Huckabee!

Completely ignoring everything that has ever worked for us is FOR THE WIN.

The naysaying on this forum disgusts me.

Difference between "naysaying" and being realistic.

For us Ron Paul supporters who are realistic, we're shunned as trolls and "naysayers". I've put as much blood, sweat, and tears into the campaign as the next guy yet you are so quickly to label me as some sort of troll.

I applaud your effort to push this video out, hoping it will make some impact. It's having a positive attitude, despite reality, that you have and that many others don't. Keep up the good fight, I know I am. But don't be so quick to judge me, because all it does is expose your own insecurities and that isn't helpful to anyone.

But, to accept the notion that this YouTube video will change the McCain vote is what it appears to be -- wishful thinking. You're better to raise some cash and push anti-McCain "ads" in local papers. That would be 100% more effective than hoping all those pro-war republicans who are 50+ years old just happen to use YouTube, see this video, and then vote Ron Paul. I mean, come on.

But, if you're hooked on the YouTube idea. I'd recommend these videos instead. These are much more likely to reach the voter group McCain has control of.

First off, I did not label you as troll and I don't appreciate the implication that I did.

Why do you think that getting 30,000 views in a day (so far) is trivial?

I don't need wishful thinking to wonder if Youtube videos change the vote, I KNOW youtube videos change the vote. How do you think we went from almost 0% name recognition to the movement we have now? A large part of that was thanks to viral grassroots marketing.

Yea, but this is the type of attacks that McCain is going to be destroyed with if he wins the nomination.

You added this after I responded.

Yes, these are all good. They've got decent view counts.

But none have the viral punch of the vid the OP posted. Some don't even have the view count of the OP's posted vid, which hasn't even been up for 24 hours yet. Others do, but have been up for a month.

One of the most important characteristics of a meme is its ability to spread. The OP video shows that it is already wildly successful in this regard.

Another important characteristic is a meme's replication and mutation factor - that is, a successful meme will not only be spread, but mutate into new forms. To that end, it is worth noting that this video is a parody of an incredibly popular Obama video featuring numerous celebrities. In other words, this video is a mutation of a meme already proven successful.

The videos you show are great, yes, but none will spread like wildfire. This one could. They have other advantages, yes, but the target audience for them is the political junkie. The target audience of this one is everyone else. Most people watch youtube to be entertained.
