It's not accurate. The Trump administration declared as classified the number of troops in certain locations and the Biden administration has not reversed that.
well , guam is no 6 and it is a us territory so hard to say if any of it is very accurate. If there are really only 16k not in europe , japan, south korea and bahrain id say should be easy to cut back some more from there
Japan still has no independence from the US foreign policy.
Everything Japan has done usually just listens to the US. Even though if they take a decade a bit to catch up with the West/US.
For years I've heard that taking troops out of Japan is impossible because in doing so they would attack us since they haven't forgiven us for dropping two nukes on them.

These weren't really my point - I was more interested in seeing if there have been any changes given how much things have changed with China - for instance, whether there was a buildup under Trump since he was using anti-China rhetoric and the whole takeover of Hong Kong, or a cooldown under Biden because he's taking orders from them.
But as far as Japan attacking the US... yeah I actually believe they would. Getting bullied by the US in 1853 and then destroyed by the US in 1945 were objectively the two best things that ever happened to Japan. They live in an arrested society and need someone to kick their asses in gear in order to evolve. If they attacked us and lost again they'd probably start having kids afterward.
