The main thing I am curious about is this platform talk. Is the platform really as meaningless as a speaking slot or does it have any significance? Is changing the platform more of a short term goal for Paul where the real goal is to actually take over the party or is simply changing the platform a significant step in his mind?

^^^She'll talk about it in the next one. The lawsuit is still new news, the PR was just sent out today.

Almost all state GOP's are being sued by the Ron Paul movement, Maddow is LOVING this.

Doug Wead is correct. Going third party is the ultimate "trump" card
even with all the "sore looser" laws. the GOP is revving up for a big
Romney romp like as if its "Thah Gipper" back at the Democrats but it
could be tight & even to a 269 vrs 269 split as each & every half a
percent really matters. Ron Paul not going 3rd party is a major event.

The platform is a flag you raise to show you took over that much of the party. It is a sign of what you accomplished, not an accomplishment in itself. If you can get it, you have influence.

Ron Paul Supporters Carry Iowa Republican Convention; Kim Lehman Going to Tampa

Ron Paul's supporters swept to victory during the weekend convention; they will send a large number of delegates to the national convention.
By Todd Richissin

Iowa will send a large number of Ron Paul supporters to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, after a somewhat contentious weekend state convention.

The 28 Republicans Iowa will send, including Kim Lehman, are unbound, which means they're free to vote how they choose at the national convention. However, Paul's Iowa Chairman Drew Ivers said that doesn't mean the delegates will get into a nomination fight, according to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier:

The movement's goal is "to restore liberty and return state and national government to constitutional limits."

Several news organizations reported the convention was at times rowdy, with speakers arguing with each other, at times with raised voices.

Judd Saul, a Tea Party organizer from Cedar Falls, had campaigned to replace Iowa’s Republican National Committeeman Steve Scheffler, but Scheffler was re-elected.

Sarah Stokes of Black Hawk County was elected as an alternate delegate.

The delegates are:

And people accuse ME of "undermining the effort". LOL, if any of this were funny.

Perhaps THE EFFORT itself needs clarification.

What IS the expressed, defined objective at this point...make the biggest splash possible WITHOUT being disruptive?

GET MORE DELEGATES lacks substance if they will not be brought to bear.

Or is HAVING MORE OF A SAY IN THE PLATFORM the big payoff of MORE DELEGATES?

If so, I cannot BELIEVE I have to remind Innocents that the Big Boyz ain't men of their Word.

If you are a national delegate for Ron Paul and a reporter ask you if you are doing to be disruptive at the convention. you say no.
it really is that simple. regardless of what you intend to do.

Ron Paul said don't be disruptive but don't let them push us around. It is THEY who get disruptive when we don't let them push us around.

Whose fingers did WE break?

Yes, yes, of course.

But whassup with THIS:

Does that mean RON PAUL GETS NOMINATED FROM THE FLOOR, THEN EVERYONE LOSES GRACEFULLY AFTER HE FALLS WAAAAY SHORT OF 1144 ... or does that mean SINCE THE NOMINATION IS LOST ANYWAY, THE STRENGTH OF DELEGATES (& FESTIVAL/RALLY ATTENDANCE) WILL BE REDIRECTED TOWARD PLATFORM CONCESSIONS?

No, it means Drew Ivers can't count. Ron has 5 states and should be nominated from the floor. We need to clear that up.

If lip-service to "smaller constitutional government" (oh, also to freedom and fiscal prudence) is the Revised Expectation...CHAINS IZ GETTIN' YANKED.

"Read my lips."

No one has control over our delegates. they are a herd of cats with maybe a couple of sheep in the mix.

I should HOPE not, after busting their asses and suffering insults for seats at the table.

Ed Sullivan was ONTO Americans...even hopelessly square Prudes could tolerate the Beatles' long hair and Elvis's gyrating hips for a "REALLY BIG SHEW."

...In the late 1940s, television executives strove to translate the principles of the vaudeville stage to the new medium, the amalgamation referred to as "vaudeo." As sports reporter, gossip columnist, and master of ceremonies of various war relief efforts, Ed Sullivan had been a fixture on the Broadway scene since the early 1930s. He had even hosted a short-lived radio series that introduced Jack Benny to a national audience in 1932. Although Sullivan had no performing ability (comedian Alan King quipped: "Ed does nothing, but he does it better that anyone else on television"), he understood showmanship and had a keen eye for emerging talent...

The initial telecast served as a basis for Sullivan's inimitable construction of a variety show. He balanced the headliner, generally an unassailable legend, this time Broadway's Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein with the up-and-coming stars, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, fresh from the nightclubs in their television debut. He also liked to juxtapose the extreme ends of the entertainment spectrum...

Sullivan had a keen understanding of what various demographic segments of his audience desired to see...

What distinguished Sullivan from other variety hosts was the ability to capitalize on teenage obsession. His introduction of rock 'n' roll not only brought the adolescent subculture into the variety fold but also legitimized the music for the adult sensibility...

I think they mean the rerun of the show that just ended (2nd showing). It hasn't been posted on her site yet.

She also will be talking with Steve Schmidt from McCain/Palin 2008 campaign, who says that the GOP is becoming dysfunctional because of the revolution.

What's up with Oklahoma? That would make 6.

It would but the video doesn't show old men being beat up and there weren't broken bones as on the Louisiana one, and I think that our video there is particularly compelling. But yeah, OK should win and we are supposed to have a coalition w/ Santa supporters in CO as well. I just meant even without those two we should have five.
