A Lot is going to happen in the next year. The Internet can make it so money is not necessary to win political office. It gives a direct line of communication and collaboration between representatives and their constituents. Consider a congressional run. Members of the Revolution are here to help you get into office and guide you once your there. Get ready. The systems to accomplish this are being built as we speak. This is a Revolution. If you believe Ron Paul will win the presidency, if you believe the movement will never die, you must believe in this.

i plan on running in a couple of years... not yet though... i could never make it now... i have no experience to be a congressmen...

cant wait til rons new book comes out... it lays down the revoultion for us.

I'd love to run for congress. Too bad i'm undereducated, a stay at home mom, and the opposition would be able to dig up to much dirt on me.

Good luck to you guys though!

meh, we are the people, we can elect who we want to. If you are a stay at home mom, who wants freedom for her kids, we can look at your present, and not your past.

I wouldn't not vote for you because of some 'problems' you have had. I will vote for you based on what things you will support, which will be Ron Paul.

I am only 18, and have my schooling ahead of me. If it were not for this I would actually run.

I might consider it, but can't run for an elected office, since I'm active duty right now. 4 years later...(assuming no stop loss!)...maybe

The new, and only, qualification for being an elected representation is a willingness to listen to, talk to, and represent the people. You must become congress's voice to the people, and the people's voice in congress. There are enough people willing to play this roll, because there is a need that we do. We must integrate our news consumption with our governing. It's already been done, without our participation. Look what they've been able to achieve.

Winning a Congressional seat isn't as easy as some of you guys make it out to be. Start small (city council/state rep maybe) and work your way up. That's what I intend to do.

We also need to "infiltrate" the media, the justice system, educational institutions and think tanks to be truly successful.

I may consider it.

There's not an ounce of dirt on me... family maybe... but definitely not me. I know I'm capable. Considering how many idiots we have up there now, it can't possibly be that hard.

It will get easier. It's a function of awareness. The internet has spurred an increase in awareness, and a movement toward participatory culture. We aren't there yet. we will be there sooner then you think. The internet will become the mainstream media if Ron Paul wins the presidency, or when our Revolution is complete. Indeed, it is the only way our Revolution will be complete.

the itch is there, but i know that i'm not in any way ready, I have no experience. However, ask me in two years.. I plan on spending it to learn what i need to.

All you need to do is know the fundamentals of freedom/constitutionalism/anarchism (what ever), and run. I'll bet that people here can get behind you, and you will have people to help you once you start running too.

The truth is that if RP doesn't have like minded people in office he wont be able to do jack (well not much more).

Getting YOU into office is (nearly, but not quite) as important as getting Paul into office. Think about it. (also its alot easier then mayor or governor). And also think that almost NOONE votes for congress people, so if all of us voting for pres voted for congress people that we would totally sway the polls in a big way.

I am highly considering a run in 2010. I'm trying to get my bar association first. I'm well spoken, knowledgeable on many topics, and I can debate my ass off (respectively). I've represented myself in court for a 3 day trial against one of the best trial lawyers in town and won :D I have a bit of dirt (non public record) on me, and if it were come out, I'm not ashamed or too prideful to talk about my mistakes, so I highly doubt that would be a problem (unless it were a presidential run)

Lots of people keep urging me to run for public office. I'm very aware that with my connections and potential reach I have no chance now, but in a year and a half I could be ready ;)

Keep our eye on the prize, and hopefully in a couple years, I will be fighting for our cause in Washington.

kyleAF - can you tell us what the mood in the military is regarding this election, 100 more years in Iraq, the surge, bringing the troops home???

It seems that bringing the troops home is considered unAmerican - seems to be Ron Paul's biggest negative for people?

Thanks

Aww thanks! I havent even really done anything bad in the past. I'm 23, never been arrested or did drugs. Married at 19 baby at 21.
There is just some... stuff out there on the internet people wouldnt approve of. Sadly, I think a lot of girls in my ge group and younger have this problem.

I've been wondering about that a lot lately. What is going to happen when todays teenage girls grow up and want to run for office, and they've got certain inappropriate pics floating around?

Will they be laughed at or will everyone adjust to it?
I've no idea.

I can consider this. i'm almost 55 and don't really have a life here in Missouri. The very thought of living in a megalopolis turns my stomach, but perhaps I could stand to do it for a few years. I'd follow in Ron Paul's footsteps. I'd need a lot of coaching on how to get elected. When is the next congressional election? I'd be running against a long-time incumbent here. She's mind-numbingly stubborn and unresponsive to the peoples' will....
