No fair adding 6,000-7,000 to the actual crowd size like we ended up with for UC Berkeley estimate.

I think the Berkeley number was really the UCLA number. I was at UCLA and 8,500 was about right. 7,000 seated and the rest in the trees.

I don't think they could hear, all the way back:

That would be a very lame sound system. It looks like about 200 feet. (BTW the sound at UC Berkley was some of the poorest I have heard at a public event. Just appalling. Nobody commented on it. Plus there were diesel fumes spewing over the right half of the crowd from some technician's vehicle, possibly running a generator. Hope they got it right at UC Davis)

At first glance this looks similar to Berkeley. Although we can't see to the edges in the photo.

which makes a difference, in estimating a crowd....

also the people in the picture are looking straight ahead which raises the possibility the crowd is equally large to the other side...

I was there. Yes, the sound system sucked if you were on either side of the speakers (which were pointing almost at 90 degrees in regard to the stage, ideally they would have been more outward on both sides). It was hard to estimate the crowd side because a lot of it was sprawled out towards the back. A conservative estimate would be around 3000. It was the first time I got to see Ron Paul speak in person and I'm very glad I made the trek from the North Bay.

Just got back, and we officers in the UC Davis Youth for Ron Paul Chapter were able to meet and speak with Ron for a while. I asked him about Krugman, and he said he has no idea why he wasn't in the second segment of bloomberg tv, he was expecting to continue the discussion after the commercil break. seems like Krugman got cold feet

Sorry about the sound, we were actively trying to get them to move the speakers and turn it up. Audio guys said they were doing their best. Supposedly a protester showed up in a KKK robe and another held up a antisemetic sign with quotes from the newsletter, did anybody see it?
