I took one of the standard lawn signs and made it into a night time sign. Just wanted to pass this info along to everyone.

Using a 3/16 th drill bit it was easy to drill through the cardboard material. I used the regular Xmas lights with 3/16 diameter bulbs (they do not burn hot). I simply pushed them through the holes that I had drilled from the back side. I highly suggest that you do it with the bulbs on because if one bulbs gets moved the entire light set will go out and you can backtrack to the one you are working on.

I used red lights. The string was 100 bulbs - I used around 96.

I feel that if we could place lite up signs on our lawns in decent locations its might be comparable to sign waves. And in apartment windows nationwide!

If anyone has any questions email me directly as it was cheap to do!!! Finding the bulbs is a hassle right now.

If I could upload a picture of the sign I would do it here - is there a way to???

One of the guys in our meetup did the same ith a 2x4 sign. The "Ron Paul" is lit up in Xmas lights.

Here's one I did with a 2'x4' sign, but I used the LED Christmas lights. There were 70 lights in each set. I used 2 sets, and only had 3 lights that didn't have holes to go into, so they just hung behind the sign. I'm expecting a pair of 4'x8' signs to arrive at my house today, and I plan to light them up too, then the 2'x4' one will probably be attached to my trike and connected to a power inverter and a 12V battery. I get a lot of traffic in front of my house. Someone pulled some of the lights out of my 2'x4' sign one night, but I was able to fix it easily.
