His job will be to remind everyone of this 24/7. This is dog whistle stuff.

Senator and prospective presidential candidate Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said that Senator and presidential candidate Rand Paul (R-KY) is “his father’s son” on foreign policy and “behind” President Obama and Hillary Clinton Monday’s “Morning Joe” on MSNBC.

“Generally speaking, he’s been more wrong than right. He has an isolationist view of the world that I don’t share and I like him, but he’s his father’s — son.

Graham concluded, “she [Hillary] supported a leading from behind president…Rand Paul is one step behind leading from behind. So, yes even Obama is more aggressive. Obama believes you can kill Anwar [al]-Awlaki without getting a court order, Obama believes you can hold enemy combatants — unlawful enemy combatants at Gitmo without a criminal because this is law of war detention. So, Rand Paul is behind Obama, not just Hillary Clinton.

This is going to be difficult, but we need to reframe this issue like Rand did with abortion. But it can be done. Like so:

Rand is not to the left of Obama, Graham and the war hawks are more liberal than even Obama when it comes to using our military.

A real "conservative" foreign policy would be to wield a big stick but only use it when we need to. Obama would get us into 3 or 4 more wars, Graham and his ilk would get us into 7 or 8 with new ones to come. Which policy is more "conservative"?

Teddy Roosevelt said, 'Speak softly, but carry a big stick.'

The neocons lay the stick upside their heads, then try to talk.

Which is honorable...?

Rand needs to keep using the term NeoCon and describing it as an extremist ideology that includes Graham, McCain and (somewhat related) Hillary until the media is saying it over and over. Once the question starts to become who else on the stage is a neocon, the script will be flipped.

Rand Paul Is Never Winning Lindsey Graham's Vote, So Why Try?
'Behind leading from behind'

Sen. Lindsey Graham again slammed the libertarian-leaning senator from Kentucky on Monday’s Morning Joe. He claimed that Paul has an “isolationist view of the world that I don’t share,” according to Mediaite:

Rand Paul is one step behind leading from behind. So yes, even Obama is more aggressive. Obama believes you can kill Anwar al-Awlaki, without getting a court order. Obama believes you can hold enemy combatants, unlawful enemy combatants at Gitmo, without a criminal trial because this is law-of-war detention. So Rand Paul is behind Obama, not just Hillary Clinton.

As always, Graham greatly mischaracterizes Paul’s views (it’s somehow “isolationist” to consistently apply the rule of law?). But bear in mind that Paul has been perceived by many libertarians as moving to the right on foreign policy matters over the last few months—ostensibly to give him a better shot at attracting a broader array of Republican primary voters and avoiding the wrath of neoconservatives (all six of them!).

Lindsey Graham says Rand Paul’s foreign policy is a “disaster.” Here’s how wrong he is

Lindsey Graham, who thought ousting Gaddafi was in America’s interest, who thought ousting Assad was in America’s interest, who thought aiding the Syrian rebels was in America’s interest, who thought fighting the Iraq War was in America’s interest, who thinks staying in Afghanistan indefinitely is in America’s interest, now basically says a war with Iran is in America’s best interest.
Graham says Rand Paul–who opposed intervening Libya, Syria, opposed aiding the Syrian rebels, prefers diplomacy to war with Iran, opposed the Iraq War and thinks we’ve stayed too long in Afghanistan–is “more wrong than right on foreign policy.”
Graham says Paul’s foreign policy has been a “disaster.”
By what possible measure, Sen. Graham?

Intervention abroad has historically been a progressive policy dating back to Spanish American war. Neocons are Wilsonian progressives. Gotta tell it like it is.

he can reframe it by calling the neocons isolationist because they dont want to trade with the world but rather bomb it and make money off of killing innocent children. rand can also make a "mistake" and call lindsey "she" and then when asked about it he can say "what? when..what what?"

No national, Iowa or New Hampshire conservatives give a damn about what Lindsey Graham has to say.

He was there cheerleading on Obama's policy on Libya in 2011, while Paul was opposed, so I don't know what he is even talking about.

Words cannot accurately describe how much I hate Lindsey Graham. He is one of the lowest forms of human life on the planet.

Graham is in for a surprise if he thinks that arming Syrian rebels has any support among the Republican base.

It doesn't really matter what Graham says to the media.

But it will be important for Rand not to lose his cool during the debates because there will be more than a couple people hammering him on this.
