Leonard Leo is part of a network that was financed by Charles Koch and Robert and his daughter Rebekah Mercer.

Robert and Rebekah Mercer, some of the biggest funders of Trump's campaign, invested nearly $20 million in the Donors Trust in 2020. Donors Trust raised over $350 million in 2020 and gave out (only) $180 million in grants.
Donors Trust is not required to disclose their (dark money) donors.

It appears that Project Veritas were set up and financed through the same dark money groups that got Donald crowned president...

In 2014-18, the "dark money" Donors Trust gave more than $8.4 million to Project Veritas, nearly one-third of its revenue.
Donors Trust is used so that donations can't be traced back to the individual donors. In late 2015 or early 2016, Erik Prince (of Blackwater infamy, Knight of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta?) arranged an intelligence training course for James O’Keefe and Project Veritas from retired military intelligence operative Euripides Rubio Jr.
O’Keefe and his bunch of liars posted about this on social media in February 2017.

In 2018, Project Veritas received $8.6 million in donations of which James O’Keefe earned a cool $387,000.

Erik Prince is of course also the brother of Trump's Education Secretary Betsy DeVos. This makes it all the more troubling that Erik Prince helped Project Veritas to secretly tape leaders in the Michigan office of the American Federation of Teachers in 2017.
