KY - "I have had my talk with God, and I will kill the man (who killed my son). I will kill him where he stands."

If he does it, he needs to make sure that it does not endanger anyone else, or himself.

An Indiana jury might go his way.

Ronald Exantus, a 42-year-old former dialysis nurse from Indianapolis, was released from prison on October 1, 2025, after serving less than seven years of a 20-year sentence for the 2015 stabbing death of 6-year-old Logan Tipton in Versailles, Kentucky.

He was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the murder and burglary charges but was convicted on two counts of second-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree assault, resulting in a 20-year sentence.
I saw this story on NewsBreak. This is what I don't understand. How can he be innocent of murder by reason of insantiy but guilty of second-degree assault? Regardless he should have been "paroled" straight to a mental institution and indefinitely confined.

Well, I guess I don't understand either. Because logic is giving me one short answer: He can't.

He was too crazy to commit murder, but sane enough to commit assault?

Fuck if I know.

The fact that he did not get confined, and was released early after serving less than half of a reduced wrist slap sentence, is what has dad in a frothing rage.

The case of the child killer who was paroled and released from prison is even more insane than you think. My team reached out to the parole board last night. We were told by their spokeswoman that under Kentucky law Logan's killer, Ronald Exantus, is considered a "non-violent offender." He stabbed a child to death and then went on to assault the entire family and yet he is "non-violent" under the law because he was only convicted of second degree assault. The murder didn't count at all because he was "not guilty by reason of insanity." That's what we were told. Apparently Ronald Exantus "non-violently" stabbed a child to death and then stabbed the rest of the family after breaking into their home. If you think our criminal justice system is completely and totally broken, you don't even know the half of it. It is so much worse than you think.

Sadly, that's from before my time. I've had to walk on eggshells in public my whole life. You never know which random passerby is a schizophrenic landmine just waiting for the wrong person to say Boo.
