Kurt Bills is now the Republican nominee for Senate!

Unlike the Massie race, the battle must be fought hard in the general election.

Good timing. Hopefully Massie wins on Tuesday and we can start planning about how we can win this. It's going to be hard against an incumbent that's also running on Obama's coattails.

We cannot lose this race. This is the most important race we have, by far. This is on a Rand-esque scale.

If Bills lose the GE against Amy Klummypants, the liberty movement in MN will be hung out to dry for having pushed an "unelectable" candidate. We will never hear the end of how we would have won if only it was Severson or Hegseth.

It is looking like Obama is going to clear up in MN. Is their anything on the ballot to really get the conservatives to show up at the polls? If there isn't, it might be extremely hard for Bills to keep it competitive.

Dear Keith,

Just moments ago, at the Minnesota State Convention, one of “our own” - Kurt Bills - won the support of the Minnesota Republican Party in his bid for the U.S. Senate!

That’s truly great news.

But it means our work is just beginning!

So won’t you please act right now to make sure Kurt’s campaign hits the ground running by making a generous contribution to his campaign?

I hope you will.

With your help, I believe Kurt can take on and DEFEAT incumbent Democrat Senator Amy Klobuchar.

And I believe his win at the Minnesota GOP convention proves our R3VOLUTION is just getting started!

You see, Kurt is truly one of our own.

In fact, as a high school economics teacher, Kurt actually used my book, End the Fed, in the classroom!

As the Republican nominee, Kurt can take on Amy Klobuchar in ways no one else can because Kurt:

*** Opposes the unconstitutional Patriot Act and the dreaded SOPA legislation, which threatens to virtually shut down the internet;

*** Supports a common-sense foreign policy that puts America’s security first – instead of wasting American lives and tax dollars on utopian nation-building schemes or policing the world;

*** Will fight to audit and finally END the out-of-control Federal Reserve, which is destroying the purchasing power of our dollar and the middle class;

*** Supports constitutionally limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets.

So please make the most generous contribution you can afford to Kurt’s campaign immediately.

Kurt’s race will not be an easy one.

His liberal Democrat opponent is part of the Big Government, big spending status quo in Washington.

That means she’s going to have George Soros and the Big Labor bosses dumping millions of dollars into her campaign coffers to try to keep their gravy train rolling in Washington.

You and I must help stop them by making sure Kurt has the funds to fight back.

So please, dig deep and help another patriot by donating to Kurt’s campaign right away.

If elected to the U.S. Senate, Kurt will join my son Rand in leading the fight for individual liberty, free markets, sound money, and constitutional government in Washington.

So please keep our liberty movement going full speed ahead by helping Kurt Bills make it to Washington.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

Our candidates are stronger than the phony neocon Republicans. If the establishment supports us, we'll win. If we lose, it will be their fault, not ours.

I don't think so. I believe if we run a good race it gives us enormous credibility. I don't think many of the party people expect Bills to win against an entrenched incumbent with Obama on the ballot in a state like Minnesota. Also keep in mind that 40 or so state legislators endorsed Bills. The 'establishment' types in MN are clearly more comfortable with Ron Paul style candidates than other places.

Let's go all out against Klobuchar, see where the chips fall and try again against Al Franken if necessary. The US Senate needs Kurt Bills.

I really hope the Kurt Bills campaign strategically plays is well in terms of his platform. I also hope that he gets some help from Rand's campaign staff. After a Massie win, the focus could mostly be put on Bills. He could have a really good shot in a state that has been trending more Democrat the last ten years. Bills is the type of candidate that could unite all the conservative groups along with civil libertarians. Exciting, but he needs name recognition and money as soon as possible.

If he wants to win in Minnesota, I don't think getting Rand's team will help much with progressives.

In any event, what did this guy run on in the Republican primary? What ARE his stances on the drug war, marriage, etc?

I was just weighing the effect potential endorsements of Jesse Ventura and Tim Pawlenty would each have on him. Should he seek those endorsements or not?

Running a campaign focused on ending foreign interventions/drug war/police state and reducing debt would really contrast well against Klobuchar's record.

He supported Ron before he even ran for Senate....
