Woot! It will be effective 7/1/15. I think KS now has the least gun laws in the nation:

Open carry legal
Concealed carry legal (now without a license)
Manufacture your own firearms and class III goodies; exempt from federal regulation if stamped MADE IN KANSAS
Legal to carry everywhere (schools, bars, etc) as non-gun signs have no legal weight.
Automatic knives, daggers, swords all legal to carry (concealed if you wish)

I think the only thing left is for the public universities' 4 year exemption to expire. You can still carry, but they could expel or fire you if caught. Soon that will be remedied unless they install metal detectors and guards at every entrance to every building, which won't happen.

Anyway, a good day. All this has been accomplished over the last 8 years.

AZ, AK, VT, WY all have Constitutional Carry. AR passed it but it is tied up in court. WV passed it too, but the Governor vetoed it (fear not, it'll pass next year in time for a veto)

Remember when you couldn't carry a handgun in either KS or MO. I do. This is one area, in many states, that things are actually improving. Nice to see it.

Things are only getting worse on this issue in CA, WA, CO, MN, MD, NJ, NY, CT, and MA, from what I remember.

Have we got the votes to override Hassen's (I'm sure she will) veto in NH for CC?

Nope. Will it happen in WV, ID, MT, NH, ME... ? We don't know.

At least things aren't moving backwards in he above mentioned states, like in CT and WA. They used to be 2 of the best states in the nation for firearm freedom, better than pretty much every state in both the South and the Midwest.
