first of all.. jewish jokes are a given.

beyond that, I am interested to know whether its worth trying since you can get it on ebay for not too much..

they say a Rabbi oversees its production personally which I have to say, when I picture that, makes me laugh pretty hard...

a huge bearded rabbi snickering at factory workers or whatever about cleanliness etc..

they apparently replace several ingredients and only use cane sugar so I don't know, it could be good..

Well if it is marketed toward Jews then it must be good stuff huh? No one would make bad stuff up for Jews would they?

Why do you think its going to be different from any other type of cola? other that the price, you are looking at identical products. Btw High fructose corn sugar is kosher and regular cola everyone drinks is kosher.

"When observing Passover, Jews may not consume (for some, even possess) leavened foods. Obviously things like bread are out, but so are any foods containing grain that has fermented, called chametz. Corn’s considered among those grains, and so are corn derivatives like high-fructose corn syrup, typically used to sweeten sodas."

I know a lot of Joo jokes, but none seem to fit this occasion. :(

Mexican Coke is with cane sugar and can still get a glass bottle. No Rabbi , I imagine.

I've never tried kosher Coke, but I have tried kosher rootbeer (Dr. Brown's) and it was delicious! I wish it was easier to find.

I like Kosher beer and hot dogs.

I am always afraid to eat that stuff. The label Kosher just screams to me this food has a high chance of being toxic to your health. Not that the manufacturers of it would do anything to it, but others might.

Well the Chicago Rabbincal Council has given the OK to Old Grand Dad , Old Crow , Jim Beam , Basil Hayden, Makers Mark etc

Kosher for passover coke is the same except sucrose instead of high fructose corn syrup. It has a yellow cap, and it tastes nearly identical to regular coke.

good to know.. probably will pass on it then..

maybe its just the fact that rabbis oversee the production that makes me want to try it..

or maybe I should just become one of the coca cola rabbis.. a man can dream

Passover

Coca-Cola, in its typical formulation, was first certified Kosher in 1935 by rabbi Tobias Geffen when vegetable glycerin replaced beef tallow-derived glycerin. However, because Coca-Cola sold in the United States is typically sweetened using high-fructose corn syrup, a legume product by the definitions of Jewish kosher law, Jews of European ancestry cannot drink it during Passover, owing to their tradition of abstaining from legumes as well as from grain during the festival. Therefore, while Jews of Sephardic ancestry can drink it, Coca-Cola sweetened with corn syrup is not labelled Kosher for Passover in order to avoid confusion. In the weeks leading up to Passover, United States bottlers in certain markets with a substantial Jewish population substitute cane sugar for high-fructose corn syrup in order to obtain Kosher for Passover certification.[SUP][14][/SUP]

In most markets where Coca-Cola produced for Passover is sold, it is offered in 2-liter bottles with a yellow cap displaying the OU-P certification. In the greater Chicago, Illinois area, the local bottler offers 2-liter bottles with a white cap displaying the CRC-P certification.

Really?

I'm honestly surprised to see that you think this.

I would have expected you to theorize that eating kosher was the Joos' way of avoiding the poisons they put in the rest of our foods.

If you do want Coke with sugar rather than HFCS, I'm pretty sure there are other labels they sell that under besides the kosher one.
