Mon 9/24: Kerry Bentivolio To Address Oakland County Commission

What: Kerry Bentivolio will speak to the Oakland County Commission’s General Government Committee concerning the Liberty Preservation Resolution, a resolution to condemn a provision of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 which stripped all Americans of their constitutional right to a fair and prompt trial upon being charged with a crime. The NDAA authorized the government to imprison (“detain”) any American citizen forever (“indefinitely”) without being charged.

Where: Board of Commissioners Committee Room A, 1200 North Telegraph Road, Pontiac [map]

When: Monday, September 24, 9:30am.

The event is free and open to the public.

I attended both events. Kerry and Justin both gave great speeches. The Oakland County resolution was postponed for a second time though (surprise, surprise) until Oct. 8. Here's a blog I wrote about it:

The resolution was passed unanimously in committee and will now go to a vote before the county commissioners next week. Here are yesterday's speakers. No Kerry this time, but the 9th District Representative Don Volaric showed up along with the creator of People Against the NDAA Dan Johnson who traveled all the way from Bowling Green University to speak. A very encouraging event to be at. I'm the last speaker BTW:

There's a nice liberty coalition building up within the Republican Party in Michigan. We're working hard to get Kerry elected right now, and we're going to fight for nullification on the grassroots level after that.
