First, the continuing spending resolution, or "CR."

I have flatly stated that I will oppose this resolution if it will fund ObamaCare. And I will take the greatest care to identify any provision that might indirectly do so.

I will also oppose it if it fails to reduce spending. We cannot afford an unbalanced budget any longer.

The federal government is all but buried in debt, and if we don't fix this problem, our children and grandchildren will inherit a devastated economy. Worse, it could even mean a default--and the collapse of Medicare and Social Security.

The upcoming vote is a major waypoint for our economic future.

Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on you. How dumb does he think we are? He said ALL of that on the campaign trail and then dropped his Ron Paul reputation like a bad habit and immediately voted to raise the debt ceiling and for the previous CR and other fiscally irresponsible items. Reposting his stuff here is insulting to all of our intelligence.

Yes, you are correct. He has been disappointing to say the least. He certainly does not warrant any future bandwidth unless it is of the content of unseating him.

Fellas, yes Kerry started off very weak and green and likely Boehner leaned on him heavily offering pleasantries and more if he would bend his way on certain things. It was starting to look back in the late spring that Kerry had seen what a precarious position he was in and corrected his voting record mostly. Overall, he still has one of the best voting records in the House, you'll be surprised to see only a select few beat him. He voted the right way on CISPA, hemp, Syria the right way on NDAA initially among other things lately. He's no angel but his predecessor and his current primary challenger are disasters. Each of those would easily bend to Boehner on everything when needed, esp on civil liberties and foreign policy. In instances like this, you must take the 85-90% (even tho u expected 100%) over the likely ~60% you'd get with the alternative here. If you don't think that's worth donating to, can't say I blame you. I will, however, canvass for him and put up the signs I have stored unless there's something more imperative to campaign for at that point in my area.

I've noticed that but they cherry pick and leave out certain issues/votes.
I know a lot of people here don't like Bentivolio but I've been keeping a scorecard and with 31 key votes so far this year, he's in the top 10 and tied with Walter Jones. He's scored better than Steve Stockman, Raul Labrador, Mick Mulvaney, and Jim Bridenstine. Given this, I hope he wins but I'm not supporting him with my money again.
Tsai keeps a more well-rounded vote tally that looks at the bigger picture. Believe me, I'm not going to campaign with the enthusiasm that I would if I was doing so for Rand or Ron. Basically, doing activism for the sake of doing so unless something else better comes up.

I hope you're right and Kerry got it through his thick head not to take us for granted. If he wants our support he better stay glued to Amash and Massie.

He voted for the NDAA without Smith-Gibson. He tows the party line when it comes to voting and tows the libertarian line when talking. He had an opportunity to be a difference maker and he blew it. My time will be spent with Justin Amash and Massie. Kerry's shown his cards and can't be trusted.
