**Katharine (from Ron Paul Blimp) couldn't access blog/Update***

Sorry about the lack of updates today folks. Something is wrong with the Wordpress blog. It doesn't recognize my account as existing and that is driving me CRAZY!! I have had so many blimp updates to give today and no central place to put them. Hopefully I'll be back online later.


The blimp may have to fly tommorow with just one banner. The 2nd banner was going to travel by plane with an individual but the weather was too bad to fly out so they drove out (USA Hotair is one of their group and has posted on the forum tonight) and will be at the hangar in Elizabeth City, NC around 4am. The problem is that we expect winds tommorow morning after 7am that will be too strong for getting the blimp out of the hangar (nothing over 7 knots for getting in or out of the hangar). The banner takes around 5 hours to apply. So, we might not have enough time to get the second banner on and get the blimp out of the hangar before the winds pick up. Once the winds pick up it could be several days until the winds are favorable to exit.

That sucks. When could the second banner be applied then? I think it would be good to get the blimp fully ready (all banners) before heading out. Ads on just one side take 50% of the effectiveness out of the blimp.

Get that blimp out of the hangar, don't risk a delay of several days. If it has to fly with one, that's just the price we have to pay.

Well it won't be flying ANYWHERE in the Northeast. We are experience a gigantic windy ice-storm right now, and so flying up the coast is totally impracticable.

But this is Ron Paul Grassroots. If there is one large group of activists that can call audibles on the fly, it's us!!!

No, you need to shut up, sit down, and let the people in charge of the project do their job. This project has been put together far quicker than most organizations would have been able to. We're fortunate to be where we are right now. Get a grip and quit whining.

If you want to do something, get off your lazy ass and put the banner on yourself. Until then, you have no room to complain.

Tomorrow shows winds will be LOW all day, only picking up Saturday morning. If the blimp doens't launch tomorrow sometime, winds will be over 7 knots until Monday evening...

Outdoors banner installation is not an option without 0 wind conditions. Thankfully the wind looks good on Mon/Tues so we'll probably swing back through NC to get the second banner put on in the hangar and then take off for NE.

good question, is there a hanger down South where you are headed? I can totally accept a half naked blimp for a little while, it IS going down where it's warmer after all.

What are you talking about? What is going on? As if you're just casually saying the blimp will fly with one banner for 5 days LOL. If the 2nd banner gets there at 4am tomorrow morning, take 5 hours to put it on and then head out. The wind conditions appear to be fine for tomorrow. Leaving with one banner is going to COST us money won't it, as efficiency goes down?

Is the 2nd banner not going to get there tonight or something?
