John Kasich: I'm Not "Stealing" Votes From Other Candidates, "If I Get Out, Trump Wins Ohio And It's Over"

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vi...f_i_get_out_trump_wins_ohio_and_its_over.html

Fox News host Megyn Kelly surprises John Kasich with a question about whether he has stayed in the presidential race too long,
saying that he might be "stealing votes from candidates who might actually win."

Megyn - "My question is whether you are stealing votes from candidates who could actually win."

Kasich notes that his campaign is performing well in states like Minnesota and Massachusetts.
". . . when we head North, it will be interesting to see who can perform up North."

"I've filled my organizations with people from the grassroots, not the Beltway...
But you just hang on, you know what a lot of people say, if I were to get out, Donald Trump would win Ohio and that would be the end of it.

And now articles are being written saying that Kasich is the one who can consolodate and beat Trump and
is most electable in terms of beating Hillary Clinton."

Trump may win it with Kasich still in, in a close race. Rubio is really the one who should be getting out. He is getting crushed by Trump in his own state of Florida - double digits.

Kasich is a just a favorite son running to collect delegates for the convention plus the possibility that Rubio will be rejected(which he should be considering how much of an airhead he is) or implode as the establishment choice leaving only Kasich. It is possible Rubio doesn't win a single state before Ohio, if Kasich were to win it then there would be no question that he'd be there candidate going forward.

Now if Trump wins Texas, Florida, and Ohio then these guys really need to give it up. That's seems like what it has all come down to.

And if you stay in, you divide up the anti-Trump vote in the other 49 states.

Actually Kasich does have a chance of winning Ohio. I've seen polls with him coming in second place in several other states.

Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!

isn't trump leading in the polls already? The guy isn't even leading in his own state. Was he on drugs when giving this statement?

What is this airhead on about? Stealing what votes from candidates who might actually win what? Stealing Republican primary votes from a candidate who might actually win the Republican nomination? So the fuck what? If he does, does that mean Hillary Clinton is going to be nominated by the GOP?

What the actual fuck is Fox doing here? Trying to make sure Republicans no longer hear any voice but Trump's? Fox has been doing that all along, along with the rest of the liberal media. No Republican has been heard this whole cycle--just Trump and a couple of other Democrats.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Kelly and Trump supposed to be mortal enemies or something? So why is Kelly suddenly so incensed that someone might steal a primary vote or two from Trump?

As I count it up, the only way Trump loses (barring some miracle) is if Kasich takes Ohio, Cruz takes Texas, and Rubio takes Florida. That would most likely prevent Trump from having enough delegates to secure the nomination.

If anyone of those things doesn't happen, Trump wins. So, Kasich is actually on point with this statement.

These states coming up are "20% threshold" states . . . if the GOP has a white guy along with the Cubans all getting 20%, all three would get delegates v. Trump.

Kasich beating Cruz in a South Carolina county was pretty bad for Ted.

The way I read it, is candidates that might actually win she means Kasich votes would go to Rubio the chosen leading establishment candidate. That could help them get closer to or beating Trump. Kasich is saying he is staying in to help keep Trump from winning Ohio rather than boosting a candidate that maybe could win (Rubio).

Kelly is still under the delusion that a candidate other than Trump can come from behind and win the delegate race. Kasich is trying to politely yet correctly explain to to her that ship has sailed, and the only way to stop Trump is to keep him from getting an absolute majority of the delegates and then robbing him via convention shenanigans. But she's too dense to get it. Total lightweight, as Trump pointed out.

Kasich thinks he's winning Ohio. Lol.

he may actually be slowing down Donald Trumps rolling bandwagon enuff so that
Ted Cruz can eat all his humble pie & then beg Marco Rubio for a Cabinet position!!!

I hate it when I hear the phrase "stealing votes"

Votes have to be earned and don't belong to a particular candidate so they cannot be stolen.

He's totally delusional.

Kasich looks like an alcoholic to me. Whenever I look at him, I envision the wino living in a box in New York City. Just me, but there's something not right with that guy.

That's the look of someone who sold their soul to Satan 40 years ago.
