Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday deplored the European explorers who first landed in North America, using a virtual address at the National Congress of American Indians 78th Annual Convention to claim President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better agenda will do much to ameliorate the damage she attributes to mass migration.

“Since 1934, every October, the United States has recognized the voyage of the European explorers who first landed on the shores of the Americas,” said Harris told the gathering held the day after Columbus Day. “But that is not the whole story. That has never been the whole story.

“Those explorers ushered in a wave of devastation for Tribal nations — perpetrating violence, stealing land, and spreading disease,” she continued. “We must not shy away from this shameful past, and we must shed light on it and do everything we can to address the impact of the past on Native communities today.”

President Biden’s multi-billion-dollar Build Back Better agenda will have “a significant impact on Indian Country” Harris went on to claim without offering specific evidence.

New History - slavery didn't/doesn't exist outside of the American slavery of the 17th-19th centuries. No one has ever colonized and taken over territory except white western Europeans/Americans. The only people who have ever committed atrocities are white Americans. Injuns never committed atrocities. They never took over territory or killed the inhabitants. Western Civilization has freed and enriched more people than any other culture in the history of the planet, and it's time to stand up on behalf of it.

And there it is.

Nothing, ever, in all the histories of all the peoples that have ever been, has one one single philosophy, economic system, religion and culture brought more prosperity, individual liberty and abundance to the world.

I think at this point the damage is irreparable. The huge boons that Western culture brought to the world, with unprecedented wealth, prosperity, growth, has inevitably - and predictably - fattened our stomachs and diminished our minds. The world has become negligent & careless from over abundance.

There is no "fixing" that amount of damage.

Secession would improve things slightly. Slightly being the key word.

If the goal is to restore the freedom that our ancestors held dear, we must hold those same values dear enough to actually do something about it. And the only "something" that I can imagine that has any remote chance of success, is for us to pursue a FSP-like project, with a much higher level of ambition and participation that such a project would require.
