Justin Amash Congress: Michigan, District: 3, Independent Cumulative Freedom Index Score: 94%

Has it occurred to anybody here:

“Vote the Record, Not the Rhetoric”

There are things that Justin is saying that I do not agree with. Some off the wall and out of nowhere even. A lot of you guys supported and voted for trump because of his podium rhetoric, dismissing his prior lifetime record. See what you got?

Ron Paul has said we must reach out not only to republicans, but democrats too, changing the hearts and minds of the American people.

Justin broke away from the republicrat party, hoping to expose the 2-party duopoly. Do you think for a moment tptb will welcome him onto the stage?

Coming from an Agorist, I for one do not give a rats hoot who is president, or in the senate or congress. I am sovereign individual, there is nobody who could ever represent me - aside from perhaps Ron Paul.

Justin’s score is still among the top in the entire house, aside from Massie. Let the man do what he has to do to have a voice, if possible, for this next circus election. Maybe then he’ll put the gloves on and talk about things that really matter.

Cumulative Freedom Index Score: 94%

Sheesh!

Amash supported sanctions against Iran & he opposed the iran deal.
Okay he opposes a war with Iran but so does Trump.

that is a great score , too bad he was not serious about staying there and representing people in such a great manner in the future.

And Trump has supported

1. A wealth tax of 15%
2. An assault weapons ban
3. A giant infrastructure bill
4. Tariffs
5. Single Payer health care
6. Proudly says he won't cut entitlements.

Donald Trump is a less terrible socialist. Justin Amash, on the other hand, is one of the top five most libertarian people is the history of congress.

If I was a congressman from grand rapids I would not throw it all away to rub dicks with sarawark

WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!

I cannot believe you are all "Ron Paul people"... This guy is a fool and playing you all. And you are dumb enough to fall for it. I am Amashamed ...

Oh yeah... Bend all those principles just fine because a fucking liar claims he is a libertarian. Toe that line of ignorance and vote just because of hate and ignorance. That hate, ignorance, and unwillingness to "compromise" is selfish hypocritical shit. Because you have NEVER compromised before? But because this lying fool claims to be a Pub-Lib-Dem like a fucking chameleon you are actually going to "bend" your "purist principles", Are you fucking kidding me???

Justin Amash is the best chance we got. He has a great record of standing up for libertarian principles.

From what I have seen so far Justin is positioning himself as a libertarian who's focus is shifting the paradigm. There are a lot of different approaches to spreading the ideas of liberty. Ron Paul was a fire-breathing philosopher-king. Someone who had a depth of knowledge that was incredible. He had 0 compromise. He was someone who blazed trails and woke people up - that type of approach will create a level of intensity and depth with a small, irate minority but it wont get you elected in the land of bread and circus.

Justin Amash will not be the fire-breathing libertarian who has 0 compromise - and that may be a good thing.

Justin Amash WILL BE the libertarian who has small, rhetorical compromises that neutralize issues that are not going to be re-litigated at this point. He's not going to take the media bate and go down the road of re-hashing the CRA, ADA, ending the income tax, and libertarian utopian ideas.

A lot of you will read this and say "he isn't going to campaign on ending the income tax - screw him - traitor!"

I hear you. Like most of you I envision a libertarian world and want to do everything within my power to bring that about. How did we get to where we are at today though? It has largely been through 20th century incrementalism. The overton window continually shifts left.

If you can't support a 5% compromise candidate that is your choice, but please know that until that overton window shifts our direction the "no compromise" candidate will not win.

Amash is betraying liberty on subjects too fundamental to be accepted.
Benedict Arnold was a hero of the Revolution.....................................until he wasn't.

I agree.

Just Amash has been terrific on a LOT of issues, but unfortunately only 100% purity is good enough for some.

Who are you talking about? The only people I see vilifying Amash spend 98% of their posts supporting someone who promised everyone everything, by making up excuses why he's only keeping the campaign promises we didn't want him to keep.

They're motivated by something, but 100% purity it ain't. It seems they want us to be motivated by 100% purity. They also seem to want us to pull our own teeth. Wonder why?

Maybe learn a little REAL history instead of public edumacation.

And read Becky Akers book.

Most of what we “know” about General Arnold turns out not to be true. He was actually a huge hero who defended liberty’s principles no matter who was abusing them: the British king and Ministry (equivalent to our modern bureaucratic regime) or people who called themselves Patriots but were, in fact, even more tyrannical than London’s government. I discovered the real story of Arnold and his “treason” while researching my second novel (due for publication this fall). I began writing the book determined to show Arnold for a traitor and a fool; within a few months, based on the facts, I had entirely changed my opinion.

Benedict Arnold defied American dictators, just as Heroic Ed has done. Those dictators naturally and vengefully vilified him at the time; textbooks and professors have repeated their slanders ever since as the truth (imagine the lies statist “historians” will one day write about Ed Snowden).

Trump supporters don't like Amash because Amash criticizes Trump, simple as that, nothing to do with liberty.

It's no different that the Bushies attacking Ron for being anti-American or whatever it is they were jabbering about back then.

The language just changed, and it's now hip for GOPers to talk about liberty, though they generally mean the opposite.

Exactly.

Justin's Freedom Index Score still has not budged below 94%, and is still among the highest in the entire House.

But, at least we know who the turn-coats are, and know that they perhaps have other agenda(s).
