Ron Paul received roughly 1,300 votes in 07 straw poll
Ron Paul received 11,408 votes in 08 Iowa Caucus.
As of today C4L has 2500 members on C4L website.

If each member of C4L brings just one person to the straw poll we can easily get 5,000 votes, which will possible get us a victory. (Romney won with 4,500 votes in 07)
Also interesting to note that Tom Tancredo received nearly 2,000 votes in 07. Tancredo is now a member of the Constitution party (a party very friendly to Ron Paul)
We need to get the people that voted for Tancredo to vote for Ron this time!
If you combine Tancredo and Ron Pauls votes you get around 3,200 votes.
Since the 07 straw poll i'm willing to bet that our numbers have nearly doubled! I don't see any reason why we should get anything less than 5,000 people to vote for Ron in this year's Ames Straw poll. Of course we are going to be much better funded this time! Lets get to work, we only have 6 months!
If we can get 10,000 people to show up in Minnesota for a Ron Paul convention, we should be able to get that much to show up in Ames this summer.

The leadership in Iowa seems pretty solid. I guess they are on state Central cmte of Republican party.

I think out of staters are fine since it's questionable if they check.

Having said that, they have a policy that no out of staters are allowed to vote, and some say they enforce this.

If that's the case, then we need to focus highly on IA only, no add ins.

Only Iowans can vote so we are going to have to start now to get every single person C4L and meetup group from Iowa there. That will be a couple thousand votes by itself.

Some please invite that Iowa c4l leadership to rod. We'd love to do what we can to help and stay posted on their efforts

yep 2,500 in Iowa and that's not counting the meetups. If we get the word out we should have no problem getting atleast 3,000 votes from just CFL and Meetup groups alone. Romney won with 4,500 votes last year.
I am convinced we have a legit shot at winning the Ames Straw poll!

I have a feeling more focus will be put on Ames than ever before. We will probably need at least 12-15 voters. Romney and the others know the importance of Ames. They will be out for the win, money and all.

Also, the poll is August 13, so schools will not be in session. They will need to start organizing later this semester.

What's your opinions of Ivers?

Secondly only Iowans can vote, but out of state supporters can certainly come and help promote Ron Paul and shuttle Iowans to Ames.

We can also do a full out blitz to get people to Ames just like we're doing for CPAC.
