Jon Schaffer of metal band Iced earth "RON PAUL Is The Only Politician In Congress I Trust

Taken from blabbermouth

"ThrashHead: What are your thoughts about this National Defense Authorization Act?

Jon: It's treason, this whole gang of criminals with the exception of Ron Paul; he's the only guy I trust. I mean there are a couple good people in Congress, but not that many… obviously; it's treason, that's the way I view it. I think politicians in Congress are largely all treasonous, traitorous pieces of...."

Pretty cool (especially if you are into metal). Their latest album was called Dystopia so it is no wonder that he endorses Ron Paul.

Pretty good band.

Can you imagine if all these metal/rock bands took 2 minutes in their set and said something like...

"YOU LOVE YOUR FREEDOMS RIGHT? C'mon MUTHAFUGGAS I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!"
"THEN GET REGISTERED TO VOTE, AND LOOK UP RON PAUL.. BECAUSE SOON ENOUGH YOUR FREEDOM WILL BE GONE UNLESS YOU VOTE FOR THIS MAN!!! NOW DO IT!! "

I am so doing that on my show this Friday... With my Ron Paul constitution shirt on.
Yeah, thats right. Im a handicapped 30-something father of two in a hard rock band. LOL
Sound interesting? It is. Come on down! Got some Liberty-focused songs, too. I just recently realized that "libertarian" was a box I fit into. Been living it (and writing songs in such a manner) for quite a while now.

Granted, I haven't been following politics as long as some people. But I don't think I've ever heard of a Republican politician who's won so many accolades from young musicians, creative artists, and other countercultural figures. And I'll bet none of these countercultural figures ever saw it coming either.

What's the name of your band? Website?

Nice. Ron attracts all sorts of creative people, from this metal band to Snoop Dog to Barry Manilow. The man is a living legend.

They're currently on tour if anyone is interested. I'm seeing them in Raleigh, NC in March. I'm going to have him sign my Ron Paul shirt :)

There must be a correlation between metal and being a libertarian. I love metal and am a libertarian. Everyone that I know that likes metal is a libertarian.

Doors open @ 7PM, we're on at 9PM.

So enough of the obligatory promotion, we were playing out pretty often about a decade ago, but that was all she wrote until a few months ago when my brother asked us if we would like to try to get back together and play for a cancer benefit. We did, raised over $5,000 and decided it was fun to play again, employed, old, crippled and married aside.

So yeah, thats that and here we are. Check us out if you want.
I do appreciate any criticism/advise/insight/accolades you could provide as well.
Thanks!
