On orders from Senator John McCain's security detail, Denver police escorted a 61-year-old woman away who was waiting in line to attend a so-called town hall meeting with McCain that was billed as open to the public.

I don't understand why they are kicking out a 61 year old lady for having a sign that says McCain = Bush. Perhaps McCain has sensitive feelings? Perhaps that will cause civil unrest?

I see no reason for her to be ticketed.

I hope she gets a good lawyer and sues all of them. Please post follow ups as this story unfolds.

On orders from McCain's security detail, police cited her for trespassing and escorted her to the sidewalk. She was told if she returned she would be arrested.

That is the solution!

We need our own security detail, which can order the police around!

No. The issue is whether it was on public or private property. If it was on public property, there is a case. However, if it was on private property, the owners had every right to ask her to take her sign down, or to leave.

It looks like it was held at the Denver Center For The Performing Arts.

According to Wkikpedia, "It is owned, and partially operated, by the City and County of Denver’s Theatres and Arenas Division." Sounds public to me.

I hate John McCain. I know how to get rid of him though, somebody just needs to sneak up behind him and pop a balloon or a firecracker or something and hope he has a heart attack. :D I don't want him to die...just have to withdraw from the race leaving the GOP open before the election in November! Sigh...

As asked in the other thread on this - how is trespassing dependent upon which sign you're holding? And why does an officer need to be told from someone in Washington what constitutes trespassing and what doesn't?

If the guy was secret service, they probably outrank local LE.

Because the states have no balls, haven't had any for a long time, and handed power to DC with no questions asked.
