Nancy Reagan endorsed John McCain yesterday.

The unusual thing about this (from what I've heard) is that she did this before the official nomination.

I copied the following from Bloomberg.com - I'm not going to link to it.

Part of the article:

"March 25 (Bloomberg) -- Former first lady Nancy Reagan endorsed Arizona Senator John McCain's presidential campaign in a move McCain said would encourage conservative Republicans to rally around his bid.

Reagan called McCain a ``good friend for over 30 years'' who is well prepared to become commander in chief. McCain, 71, was a prisoner of war in Vietnam for over five years after his aircraft was shot down over Hanoi in 1967. "

Wow, she must really be senile. Maybe she's so old she's forgotten what a "Republican" is...

The wife of a man has her own set of beliefs and flaws. To equate a Nancy Reagan opinion with a Ronald Reagan opinion is to not respect Nancy's freedom to be wrong.

I respect Goldwater Jr's endorsement because of the man's explanation of his endorsement as well as how he articulates WHY, based on principles, he believes his father would support Paul.

Nancy Reagan is a loon. And she always was.

Maybe her astrologer and her psychiatrist told her to support McCain.

If she had endorsed Ron, I'd expect Teresa Heinz-Kerry-McCain to be next in line to do so. (I see the future.)

At this point just about any "endorsements" of John McCain are superfluous, in fact they have been for a while. The same thing when Obama was getting endorsements during his "winning streak." People like to endorse candidates they think are going to win because it makes them look good, and in this particular case, Nancy Reagan is probably endorsing McCain simply because he's likely to be the Republican nominee and he will need all the support he can get. I'm sure there's other things going on behind closed doors to get endorsements as well. If Paul were in McCain's position she'd likely endorse him instead.

I heard rumors that she had helped Ron Paul get into the Reagan Library debate because they were trying to keep him out. I don't know if they are true.
