Liberty-Oriented Organization Seeking Marketing Manager.

Job Summary:

With Americans’ desire for freedom on the rise, The John Birch Society is seeking someone experienced in advertising and marketing to help people learn about our organization’s pro-liberty work. The Marketing Manager will analyze, develop and implement communication and promotion strategies and information programs. They will analyze marketing needs and develop appropriate promotional strategies, publicize activities and events, and maintain media relations on behalf of the JBS, The New American, writers, and speakers. The Marketing Manager will be a champion of promoting the JBS, The New American, and its Speakers Bureau. The ideal candidate will be familiar with our organization and its stances. This is a full-time position in Appleton, Wisconsin, that includes benefits.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Assess characteristics of products or services to be promoted and advises on the advertising needs of a JBS. (This includes experience in promoting Magazines).
- Develop and implement advertising campaigns appropriate for print or electronic media.
- Gather, research, and prepare communications material for external audiences.
- Conduct public opinion and attitude surveys to identify the interests and concerns of key groups served by their organization.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of reports, briefs, bibliographies, speeches, presentations, Web sites, and press releases.
- Develop marketing materials for workshops, meetings, ceremonies, and other events for publicity, fundraising, and information purposes.
- Prepare and deliver educational and publicity programs and informational materials to increase awareness of JBS education.
- Help prepare brochures, reports, newsletters, and other material.


Required Skills/Abilities:

- Creative and inventive.
- Ability to compile, analyze, and communicate data.
- Possesses written communication skills with a proven ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for external publications.
- Possesses interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with media contacts and outlets.
- Possesses organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Possesses time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:

- Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
- 2 – 4 years of experience.
- Experience in social media would be a huge plus.
- Fully aware of JBS's mission and stance.


Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
