Hey guys,
Just a quick update in case anyone cares, but I thought the conference would die down today, however Nigel Farage's lively speech was also a big draw today, packing the room to standing room only, much like Ron Paul. He ranted on the tyranny of the EU, making former Australian PM John Howard's speech quite boring.
THIS DUDE IS COOL!
He was super approachable, and some of my friends even spent 20 minutes with him just chatting. Definitely not a fake conservative/neocon/RINO type. If your not familiar with him just do a youtube search on his epic European Parliament rants.
As expected, we ran into some Harper staffers who were upset at the libertarian speakers at this years conference, especially RP, so it was quite fun systematically poking holes in their belief systems ("No foreign aid - except Israel, they can have whatever they want!"). Kind of expected given the hit pieces that came out though.
Lots of students still buzzing about RP's appearance on Friday, and lots of confusion from establishment 'conservatives' as they try and grapple with how a retired old American doctor is creating such a frenzied reaction at their own conference.
