Some people may think that this campaign, other than its educational value, was a total washout. However, Ron's ridiculed gold backed currency idea came back to bite the IRS in the ass. Check it out:

The question is, how many gold coins are in circulation? You know the IRS and the banks will be taking them out of circulation after this court decision. However, I believe Ron's 1985 law requires the mint to make a certain amount available every year.

This demonstrates that Ron Paul was right all along about gold backed currency.
Who's laughing now?

ALOT!

My mamaw has enough 1 ounce gold coins to fill a 50 gallon drum to the half way point. No kidding! She got alot of them from her dad when he died as he saved almost all 1 ounce gold coins since he was a kid back in 1905. My dad said he carried out bread boxes full of coins so heavy he could barely pick them up after he died in 1998. . She has no clue as to how much money she is sitting on. It must be 20 million or better. Im going to talk to her about it very soon to see if she has any clue as to how much she has.

25 gallons of gold would weigh 58,779.75 troy ounces or 4030.61 pounds.
At 916 dollars an ounce, that would come out to be $53,854,006.95 worth.

I'd be REAL quiet about that if I were you.

Loose lips sink ships, the old adage was true then and now. People could easily hire a mercenary force to steal the gold when that amount of wealth is involved. Your 12 gage then would be useless. Best thing to do is STFU.

Excellent article... So how do you get these golden coins from the government???

I don't understand how they can print $50 on the coin even though its worth like $900 and expect those people to know it is worth $900 and not the $50 that it says on the coin, even though the guy in charge obviously did know what he was doing...

I don't know about the weights of the coins they mint now, but only a few years ago, the big question was if gold could ever go above $300/ounce. That's a laugher! What is it now, $1000/ounce?

I think we run into the gold/water paradox though. If the country experiences severe drought or some other natural disasters, and you haven't had a drink of water for 3 days, what would you rather have, a glass of water or a glass of gold dust? Then there's the matter of martial law.

If I was that woman with the $58 million, I'd pay for a ride to the moon and live in a rocket capsule equipped with a biosphere and a ton of calcium supplements (you lose bone calcium in space). It would be cool to play frisbee or ride a bike on the moon.

I think this world is toast. If you can afford it, leave.
