I would say, probably yes, but without him or millions like him being told about it.

Anti war folks like myself often get mistaken for pacifists. I am not "pro war" but I am not against fighting a war when it is required.

The modern tyranny state does not wage war based on the protection, defense or revenge of death and injustice directed at it citizens.

If it did, we would not be funding Ukraine against Russia and would, in fact be at war with Communist China.

But an honest assessment has to be made, when looking at his sacrifice and the nation around us.

Apologies for interjecting this but I think it's fitting.

Leon Gautier was among 177 Frenchmen who participated in the landings on June 6, 1944, which marked the start of a rollback of Nazi Germany's domination of western Europe.

He belonged to the Kieffer commando, made up of French fighters who continued to battle the Nazis alongside the US, Britain and other Allied forces even after the French government surrendered to Germany in 1940.

He died in hospital in Caen early Monday, the mayor of nearby Ouistreham Romain Bail said, close to the Normandy beaches where the fierce battles are commemorated every year.
