Is there good reason to vote for Kasich or Cruz?

I think most here would agree that trump and Hillary(front runners) are horrible options for president. I think many would also agree that Cruz nor Kasich offer a better alternative. But could there be a reason, in the upcoming primary states, to vote for Cruz or Kasich and keep trump shy of the magic number? For however likely or unlikely it may be, to see the Republican Party select someone other than Trump in their contested convention might be enough to anger some Republican voters to the point that they support a 3rd party or leave the party for future years and elections.

Without a doubt this is a far fetched plan that may never come to fruition, but it's an idea. Anyone agree? Disagree?

People should be voting for candidates they support, not against others.

To demonstrate to Gary Johnson's supporters the value of backing a candidate perceived as the most electable.

I agree with this. Which is why i vote 3rd party, or write in.
But I might make an exception if the vote offers the possibility to fracture the 2 party system. Would you make such an exception, ever?

No. I voted for Rand Paul.

No.

All of the Republican candidates suck.

Keeping Trump from getting the nomination doesn't accomplish anything useful, it would only result in a different statist winning at best.

If it's just a matter of comparing Cruz and Trump, then yes, I think there are reasons to think Cruz is better than Trump. At least when it comes to the issues that Cruz is good on, I'd say he has more reliability.

Yes, because Cruz hands out teddy bears to illegal aliens, right, erowe? And Trump just might slow down the illegal alien invasion of the U.S. Cruz is also pro managed trade agreements, like the Trans Pacific Partnership; which also would setup another international ruling body above our own Congress. Just so much goodness there.

I don't know anything about either of those claims. I probably don't agree with either of them on illegal immigration, but if that's your issue Cruz is against amnesty and Trump is for it.

Also, Trump is for trade agreements too. He talks about them all the time. Notice how he says he wants to renegotiate them. He doesn't want to get out of them. He just wants to be able to charge us higher tariffs.

Cruz might want less illegal alien overrun of our borders than you do, but he's very pro illegal immigration. Even hands out teddy bears to them.

And no, Trump is NOT for it.

Trump is not for trade deals that are unfair to U.S. companies. Which is why he wants to renegotiate them. Cruz loves them, which goes hand-in-hand with his wife, Heidi, working on the CFR's Task Force to lay the groundwork for a North American Union.

Who you vote for does matter, but the important thing is that you vote.

Thanks for voting.

At this point, I don't see a good reason to vote for any of the presidential candidates.

Trump proposes a very expensive form of amnesty which will put what people today are calling a police state to shame.
