Could have the same problem here in Indiana as Iowa at lest in my county? People here look at two major things, abortion and faith. Some can't even see past these two issues. They see hucklberry talk about his faith and abortion and get gooie eyed over him. I personally I’m an evangelical but I’ve looked into hucklberry’s past record and can see through his crap. But some I’ve talked to can't or won't see past abortion and faith. They don't understand Mr. Pauls stand on these issues. I’ve explained to them how he feels about abortion and that it should be decided on the state and local level which means we the people make the decision on this and other issues, like prayer in school. most people around here get all their information from the t.v. ( msm ).I’ve tried talking to them about some of the crazy and dangerous laws that congress and the president have passed or are trying to pass. But if your not talking about the latest reality show or what happened on the popular sit-com, they look at you like you’ve just spoken some totally alien language, ( personally gave up t.v. 7 yrs ago haven’t watched it since then ) .


I keep trying to talk to people about what I believe are important issues, even though I get the eye roll or the you’re a nut look. I wonder if it’s not a lost cause and is it like this all across this country. Are we the only ones with the scales removed from our eyes. I know there are people here on this forum who don’t believe in god and I’m completely fine with that and I don’t condemn you for it. I’m not here to try and convert anyone,( wish that you did though, lol). But I do and I don’t think this country is headed in the direction he or the founding fathers intended .

I’m just a little disappointed over last nights results. I truly thought and felt that people where waking up to the truth, that the scales had been removed. I will continue to fight for ron paul. It’s not in my nature to give up. Just had to express my thought’s and feelings this morning

Well Sir, you see, the majority of the people in this country favor a form of communism! They feel they have a 'right' to have anything they want and the government should give it to them. They just don't understand, when they let the government make the decisions as to what they will get, it will be of the cheapest and poorest quality. They don't understand where the money for these thing is going to come from.

If what is happening in this country continues, the government will just take your pay check at the end of the week and when you go to the store, they will just scan you and give you the items the government thinks you need.

Somehow, people have been led to believe all of the government hand outs will be free!

This works to the advantage of the politicians though, because they can make like they are Santa Clause and give people gifts if the people will just vote for them.

There is little difference between communism and what our country is turning into.

Don't be discouraged. People ARE waking up. Back in May when the crowd at the debate was jeering at Ron Paul, nobody would have imagined that he would a double-digit percentage of the vote in Iowa.

The reason people talk about the importance of being a precinct captain is that it maximizes the chances of finding someone who DOES think politics is important, someone who may or may not agree with you but at least isn't going to stare at you like a dead fish when you talk politics. At this late date, it is more efficient to reach out to people who care about politics rather than to try to get apathetic people excited about politics.

In regard to specifics about discussing faith and abortion, I suggest tweaking the message a bit.

Ron Paul's abortion policy is the only one that has a realistic chance of saving lives in the near term. All these people who want to achieve a federal policy against abortion are simply sacrificing millions of fetuses until there is a pro-life amendment, which may be never. If abortion is given back to the states, you know that some states are immediately going to ban abortion and at least some fetuses in at least those states are going to be saved.

The wisdom of Ron Paul about faith is that he avoids favoring one form of Christianity over another. What Huckabee is doing is setting the stage for disputes between Christians with different theological beliefs. Notice that he chickens out and refuses to answer specific questions about his particular theological beliefs. But if he is going to say that faith matters, then it DOES matter what his particular theological beliefs are. He can't have it both ways. But he knows that if he does get specific about his theology, he is going to alienate a lot of Christians because suddenly they are going to realize he is not really behind them. In contrast, Ron Paul stays out of this mess entirely.

A lot of Christians take Bible verses out of context. For example, they read Acts 2 and they don't realize there's a big difference between voluntary sharing and government-mandated redistribution. They don't, for example, understand that freedom from income taxation would allow them to direct their charitable contributions where they wanted instead of where the government wants to send it.

I watched Firestarter on TV the other night, and it seems like America is so changed, even in the heart land. It was the scene where federal agents showed up at the farm to take Drew Barrymore, and the old vet brought his shotgun out on the porch and told them to get off his property.

When they protested, he said, "Show me your warrant." They said, "We work for the government. We don't need a warrant." Then the old timer said, "You do unless I woke up in Russia this morning." The sad part is, agents can write their own warrants without a judge now.

We need to get the Reds out of our government. They've been worming their way in throughout the Cold War, and they will be the end of America. This takes priority over everything.

Yeah, it has gotten REALLY bad. I remember the time whe you could do something like that scene, 'have known of at least two guys who stood in their doorways with guns when law enforcement challenged them on their property. Let me assure you, now if you so much as show a gun in your hands when they come knocking, you had better put it down quick, lest you face their wrath.
