Those looking to save the remnants of America would be better served to look further down the road and try to set up a fallback position for freedom through education of the younger generation in history, economics, freedom and independence.

What Whittaker Chambers wrote to a young William F. Buckley Jr. in 1954, is more true now than it was then. Buckley had bemoaned the potential loss of Western civilization and Chambers replied (in part):

“That is why it is idle to talk about preventing the wreck of Western Civilization. It is already a wreck from within. That is why we can hope to do little more now than snatch a fingernail of a saint from the rack or a handful of ashes from the faggots, and bury them secretly in a flowerpot against the day, ages hence, when a few men begin again to dare to believe there was once something else, that something else is thinkable, and need some evidence of what it was, and the fortifying knowledge that there those who, at great nightfall, took the loving thought to preserve the tokens of hope and truth.”

Nothing man can do will stop the out of control Leviathan State from continually expanding. It will devour itself. When it finally dies of its own greed and stupidity, let’s pray free men and women will be prepared to construct a true system of liberty and justice.

Wow, pretty fatalistic. Pretty accurate, but not typical of the positive sunshine view most parties put on their website.

It reminds me of an article I read recently, someone pointing out that there is nowhere left to run to for those wanting to live free. There is no "New World", and things have progressed to the point where we will probably have to take a no holds barred stand or liberty is likely to be extinguished.

We will have to literally decide if "Better dead than red" or will it end up being "Better red than dead".

We likely will have to make the decision between liberty and death. Or at least test if we are willing to put out lives on the line for freedom.

Talking heads claiming that the anger at the town hall meetings was manufactured. The elite and their media lapdogs have no fucking clue - they really believe that anyone that could disagree with them has to be ginned up partisanship. I saw Gibbs talking about the townhall thing and he made some snarky comment about it reminded him of telling his six year old that people can disagree on things but they need to do so in a civil manner.

That wasn't provocative at all was it - if you disagree with us and you get angry that we have been sending this country to hell, well, you just got equated to a six year old by the wise one in Washington.

I completely agree. I have no hope left. I am absolutely, 100% certain America will fall fatalistically in my lifetime... I dare say in the next 6 years. There is no hope. Schiff winning a senate seat would be too little, too late.

I think it is a fairly realistic sentiment shared by a number of geographically seperated individuals who have come to one conclusion, rome will fall again. Education is the single most important factor defining man's destination in life. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst!
