Indianapolis (CNN)If Ted Cruz is to win his make-or-break primary here, he'll have to do it without an ally he's had in major victories over Donald Trump before: Conservative talk radio.

The resistance to Trump among right-wing talkers was one of the most powerful tools in Cruz's arsenal in his win in Indiana's northern Midwestern neighbor, Wisconsin, earlier this month. But in the Hoosier State, talk radio, and the people on it, just aren't as interested in stopping Trump.

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll released on Sunday showed Donald J. Trump with a lead of 15 points among likely Republican primary voters, 49 percent to 34 percent.
..
Fifty-eight percent of voters said they disapproved of the agreement struck by Mr. Cruz and Gov. John Kasich, which called for Mr. Kasich to abandon campaigning in Indiana in exchange for Mr. Cruz’s withdrawal from Oregon and New Mexico. Thirty-four percent approved. Mr. Cruz’s own polling has likewise shown him trailing Mr. Trump, compelling the campaign to look beyond the state, if at least for a moment.
...
And on Saturday, Mr. Cruz surrendered a full day of Indiana politicking to speak at California’s state Republican convention, with an eye toward its election on June 7.

“California,” he said there, a bit hopefully, “is going to decide this Republican primary.”

How will Kasich do in Indiana ? . . . he had dropped in polling I guess.

"Fifty-eight percent of voters said they disapproved of the agreement struck by Mr. Cruz and Gov. John Kasich,
which called for Mr. Kasich to abandon campaigning in Indiana"

". . . 63 percent say it would play no factor at all."

(1 day ago) A new poll conducted by Survey USA and Los Angeles-area ABC News affiliate KABC shows Donald Trump dominating the California primary race (among registered voters — see Update), leading Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 54% to 20%. Ohio Gov. John Kasich is third in the poll, at 14%.
