Even if you feel this way, what kind of person proudly says these kinds of things out loud. These people are so subservient and ignorant of the values this country was founded on. These people are disgusting and un-American.

“If you’re not doing anything wrong, what are you worried about?” said Tom Charlton, 64

“If this can stop one attack, it’s worth infringing on legal citizens’ rights.”

“I don’t want the mall to get bombed because they didn’t get the information they needed,” said Martin,

"It doesn’t bother me because anybody who says illegal stuff on the phone is flat stupid,” Navy veteran Alan Loomis, 62

“I got my makeup and my smile on all the time because 90 percent of the places I go, I know I’m on camera . . . I just accept it. I don’t like it, but it’s part of the world now.”

And of course Rick Santorum being the Constitutional stalwart he is
“I don’t like bulk collection, but the Patriot Act has worked and we have to realize we’re at war.”

What's worse, these same people would be the first to blame others for being un-American if they didn't "support the troops", or something equally meaningless.

Hooray for democracy...

If my experience with conservative voters is at all typical, this article is flat-out not true

“If you’re not doing anything wrong, what are you worried about?” said Tom Charlton, 64, a retired sales training manager for a tire company, who was first in line at a book-signing with Paul in Davenport. “If this can stop one attack, it’s worth infringing on legal citizens’ rights.”

Vivian Martin, 71, bought a copy of Paul’s new book, “Taking a Stand,” and watched him speak here, but she said his views give her pause.

“I don’t want the mall to get bombed because they didn’t get the information they needed,” said Martin, who runs a water-softening business with her husband.

These quotes literally sound like the author wrote them in as temporary stand-ins for real quotes he intended to later get from real citizens, but then decided to say "fuck it" and used his placeholder quotes with made-up names.

Lol. Especially this: "it’s worth infringing on legal citizens’ rights." Who actually talks like that? Not even McCain or Lindsey Graham does.

It sounds like they only interviewed people over 60. If my experience with voters over 60 is at all typical, then this article is quite true. Just not very representative.

The biggest challenge our movement faces, to be honest, are the ossified thinkers of the 60+ generation who know that they have done everything wrong and broken America, but are afraid to let go of power and are afraid to abandon the status quo.

Yup, I was just about to point that out, unfortunately this is how the older folks tend to view things.

What really boggles my mind about this cohort, is how many of them will readily openly and freely admit that it was their generation that messed up America, and then in the exact same breath 1) refuse to cede the reins to anybody else and 2) refuse to change they way they have been doing things for the last 45 years.

I've actually asked a couple who did this nonsense, "Okay, so you admit it's your generation that destroyed America, but you refuse to hand off power to the next generation and you refuse to change the way you operate. Are you actually trying to kill American on purpose?"

I usually get that confused, "Are you speaking English?" look. :p

Don't get me wrong, there are obviously exceptions. We have plenty of 60+ members right here on RPFs who would do great in Congress or wherever. Sadly, these are the exceptions.

the problem is the GOP caucus goers are heavily over 60. the good thing is they will be split 15 ways.
