In depth: Maine 2008 Results vs 2012 Results (Saturday Caucauses only)

edit: I will be adding results form the results thread to compare today and 08, I will be doing this only for today's caucauses which are the largest. Today's results are parcial.. Off course...

Who is voting on Saturday?

The two largest counties: Cumberland and York, among others. http://www.mainegop.com/2012/01/maine-g-o-p-2012-caucus-information/

How did Mitt and RP do in 08 here: Results

Androscogging County
08: Mitt 173 Rp 71 McStain 35
Today: Rp 103 Mitt 78 , not really counting the rest but santorum got 33 in Lewiston (wtf lewiston???)

Androscoggin precincts:

Lewiston:
08: Mitt 35 , Rp 13
Today: RP 53, Romney 38, Santorum 33, Gingrich 5

Auburn:
08: Romney 35 Paul 13(Rp was second) Record turnout here btw
Today: Rp 50 Mitt 40

York:
Total Results:
08: Mitt 393, Mcain 132, RP 109
Today:

York Precincts:
Waterboro Maine:
08: Mitt 10 Paul 5
Today: RP 14, MItt 4, santorum 3, newt 0 .

York and Old Orchard caucuses are the largest here, RP lost by both 42-14 (mcain 22) and 44-8 (16 mccain) respectively

Cumberland:

Total Results:
08: Mitt 819 , 286, RP 220
12: Mitt 127, Rp 77

Cumberland Precincts
Brunswick:
08: Mitt 49, Mccain 22, Paul 14
Today: Mitt 53, Santorum 28, RP 24

Scarborough:
08: Mitt 60, Mccain 36, Rp 15
Today:Mitt 45, Rp 25, Newt 24

South Portland:
08: Mitt 64, Rp 19, Mccain 17
Today: Mitt 29, Rp 28, Santorum 19, Newt 5

Cumberland includes Wesbrook which Romney won 39-17(RP 2nd!) ; Portland: 80-52(Rp 2nd!); Cape Elizabeth which RP got crushed 63-6 (30 mccain) and Falmouth which was 73-10 (mccain 23)...

Just to add, yarmouth 56-9... ill stop there

So I think the campaign made a big mistake not being there at least today through Saturday... We shall see...

Whoever will be heading up to maine, try to focus on the large population areas, we cant let romney win these so easily

^Farmington is a college town (UM@Farmington I went there ;) )

Paul won westbrook earlier this week. We could win Portland. Get ready..... GOTV... we can win this mofo thing!

Too keep in perspective today:

South Portland went: Romney 64-19-17(RP) ... today: Mittens 29 36% , Paul 28 35% , Santorum 19 23% , Newt 5 6% (result taken from results thread, caucus goer..)

From Results thread:
Talked with Ron Paul Supporter from Scaborough who had thier caucus yesterday. The reproted number in that town was:

1st Mittens 45 votes
2nd Ron Paul 25 votes
3rd Newt 24 votes
08 Total: Mitt 60-15

Results thread:

Waterboro Maine... Ron Paul 14, Mitt 5, Santorum 3, Newt 0 , compared to 08, Mitt 10, Paul 5

Lewiston:
Ron Paul - 53
Romney - 38
Santorum - 33

08: Mitt 30 Rp 18 Mcstain 16... record turnout here too I imagine...

Romney beat us 140-70 in Androscoggin county last time, looks like were poised to beat him there this year

It look's like the caucus results in and around Portland are going to decide the final result tonight. I hope Romney's total's are way down from 2008.
