I know some of you do not like Bob Barr. I think he has a great opportunity to take 5-10% of the vote or more and to send a message that people like Chuck Baldwin won't be able to match.

Anyway, for those of you who don't like him, that's fine, you have your reasons. But if you guys DO like him, think about checking out www.barrbomb.com. July 2nd money bomb for him, if you have anything left after giving to RP.

Also, www.campaignforliberty.com, spread the message...

McCain or Obama are better?

So, now its down the the lessor of three evils?

We need to spend our efforts where it matters... congressional candidates and enlightening other voters. We need to stop wasting time on this presidential cycle... we lost. We need to gain what victories we can with the few viable congressional candidates available during this election... and start working on 2010, 2012.

Wasting time on Barr and the others is just that... a waste of time.

If you are working on other candidates, great, but I think people want to make sure others are not doing anything for Liberty, as in: if they aren't supporting Barr or Baldiwn, they must be sitting home doing nothing or selling out to the D or R.

I applaud your efforts helping other candidates, but the Libertarian Party shouldn't be told to go to hell, as they are helping more in some races (namely the presidential race) than anyone in the GOP can.

LP and CP are both a protest vote at this time... I'm not a Barr fanboi, I'll be voting LP for party loyalty and nothing more (otherwise it'd be a toss-up between Barr and Baldwin).

We have to realize that NO CANDIDATE will ever measure up to Ron Paul, and if we are to have any hope of busting up the 2-party monopoly then we have to unite behind a viable alternative candidate. That candidate is Bob Barr. Staying home or writing in RP (truly a WASTED vote, since it won't be counted) is not an option for anyone who claims to be a "freedom lover".

i repeat: we must all get behind ONE candidate. The only way to make a difference. If it's Barr, fine. Baldwin, fine. they are both far superior to the cfr 'choices':D

why? our vote means NOTHING. I fully respect those who would like to vote for Barr (if they don't try to force him down my throat), but I am going to vote for Baldwin. I am of the cat sort, and hate to be herded. :D

our vote CAN mean something if we all vote for the same non-cfr candidate!

It wasn't :D

Frankly, it probably accounts for a significant amount of his name recognition.

I think they should pay to use that in his first commercials (assuming we get to the point of a few TV ads). Really make the statement that this is something different than we're used to in politicians.

Who'll Eat Borat's Cheese!?

I have decided I will no longer try to convince anyone to vote for Bob Barr...it only makes people dig in their heels. The REVOLUTION is split and it appears that is the way it is going to be. I WILL post positive points about supporting Bob Barr and whatever positive information I come across. BOB BARR 2008! TONES

I will not smear Chuck Baldwin...I like the guy. BUT, I will point out the downfall of supporting the CP at the moment simply because they are years behind the libertarian party ...not that I dislike the CP, because I do. We don't have a lot of time to fool around...that is why I support Libertarian Party...they have more leverage in 2008. TONES

If we all do our own thing, this movement is going to be an enormous waste of time. Think of it this way - the entire concept of a political party is based around the idea of compromise. Individuals come together and compromise among themselves to elect a candidate to office. There is an element of sacrifice in this. I sacrifice my support for the guy I agree with 100% of the time in favor of supporting a more viable candidate whom I agree with 85% of the time, so that I can effectively oppose the candidates I agree with 20% and 10% of the time.

The reason I support Barr is because he's more viable than Baldwin. Barr has experience, which the voters require whether we like it or not. Barr has the contacts, which gets him the required media exposure. And Barr has the team, comprised largely of former Paul and Perot backers. I don't like Barr, but I support him because the people in this movement, if we can ever hope to call it a movement, need to COMPROMISE and make some sacrifices in order to target our support in such a way that we effect change.

The old herding cats line is an accurate assessment of libertarians in general, and it's an assessment that we need to overcome, because if we behave like cats then this movement is fucked.

I disagree. It has to be Barr. I don't like the guy more than Baldwin, but I respect that he is far more viable than Baldwin. Perhaps he could compromise and take Baldwin as a running mate (getting bookie Wayne Root, that ridiculous selection, off his ticket).
