How about this. Take the Persian comment of Ahmeinejad to your Persian or linguistic professors and tell them to give a Literal translation of those words.

If we can get 100-200 professor's translation we can publish that. It is very clear "wipe Israel off the map" is a lie.

The greatest problem we have is misinformation spread by the media so I think its part of our responsibility to help fix that. If we get it then have that presented in the media like Ron saying 100 professors disagree with them lend credibility. Dispelling lies will help Ron. And we know if we convert people away from 'israel is going to get nuked' we will gain

It will also help in terms of showing that all this negativity about Iran is war propaganda.

Just make sure you tell the professors you want Literal translation not their interpretation. In fact don't even tell them where the comment came from to prevent bias.

Eh, not the best plan. While he didn't want to wipe the country off the face of the earth, he did want regime change and Iran does want to rule the holy land. Not ideas you want to push in the GOP primary.

Consider that 'wipe off the map' is an idiom unique to the English language, and you will realize the 'translation' we've been given cannot be a literal one.

The literal translation reveals a message completely different from what we're being told.

My wife is a native persian speaker who grew up in Iran and has a Phd in translation. No joke.

They don't have the phrase "face of the map" in farsi. He was misquoted.

Someone gave the literal translation of it last night and it echoed what Ron was saying, it was 'regime' not Israel per se, and I forget the rest.

I know that its lie. But can't we have like a 'letter' signed by hundreds of linguists to use as evidence. the fact we know they are lying isn't good enough to help the average voter.

Let's not banty words with Council.

Someone gave the literal translation of it last night and it echoed what Ron was saying, it was 'regime' not Israel per se, and I forget the rest.

Israel is Jewish regime. So, Iran's LONG TERM PLAN doesn't change with TIME. Is their own suicide eminent ? NO. To NUKE Israel is to NUKE "their own". Their war will not be by dropped NUKE. However, their fearfull friends and enemies with shaky hands may have problems controlling the stage, for resourse management. There truely is a NWO. We simply have to see who runs it now. The MONEY changers manage it all, and they will not blow up vtheir biggest Worldly asset, Earthly minded ISRAEL.

I found an article from an Israeli website which puts Ahmadinejad's statements in the context of how his view of Israel is held by other figures in Muslim society. Here's an example of similar statements by former Libyan leader Gaddaffi:

In a speech outlining his views on how to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Gaddafi called for the creation of one state rather than two nations living side by side.

"We can call it Isratine," he said. If Jews did not accept a one-state solution, he said they could move to Hawaii, Alaska or an island in the Pacific. "They could live peacefully in an isolated setting."

What can we say about the meaning of Gaddaffi's remarks? Essentially he's calling for the destruction of the current government of Israel but NOT by bombing or nuking them.
