I wonder if anyone has noticed that Trump seems to be putting the US on the fast track to go back under the British monarch, yet.

I voted for Trump all 3 times that her ran for POTUS & I support some of what he's doing, but not everything. I voted for Trump to make America great, not some other country, not for foreign entanglements, and not to be hostile towards foreign entities either (unless they're being hostile towards us).

There's one thing I oppose more than anything else that any politician could support, which is the idea of changing our republic into a monarchy, any monarchy - whether it's a homegrown or foreign monarch, like the British or Spanish kings, the Japanese emperor - whatever.

There are several things that Trump has done that suggest the possibility that he's trying to put the 13 former British colonies, plus the 36/37 states (West Virginia was part of the 13 colonies as part of Virginia, and present-day Washington DC was part of Maryland) and US territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, etc.) & uninhabited possessions (Midway Atoll, Wake Island, etc.).

The first is the idea of Canada (a British Commonwealth realm monarchy country) becoming the 51st state of the US; he does this while making no mention of separating it from the British Commonwealth monarchy realm like he seems to be implying with the idea of purchasing Greenland.

The second is this executive order making English the official language of the US, with no distinction between American English and British English:

The third is this (I'll let you read about it for yourself):

What will the 4th be? Do we need a 4th?

Yah I don't get this commonwealth bullshit.

And trying to erase borders with Mexico and Canada, fuck that noise.

Canada is a serious threat to the United States because it's a soft target and it would give a potential adversary a military advantage against us.

The USA defends it under NATO but Canada doesn't even spend enough money on defense spending to meet NATO commitments.

Plus they create tough trade barriers that hurt our economy in order to give them trade advantages.

Trump isn't stupid to not let Canada continue to take from us without giving something in return.

We have had these disagreements with Canada for decades. Trump is just being transparent and demanding action with the threat of force.

We wouldn't become Monarchy if Canada joined the United States either.

When the southern territorys left the union and we took them back we didn't become a Monarchy.

The UK (British) representative reportedly gave Trump a letter extending an offer, an invitation to the United States of America to join the commonwealth. This letter was supposed to be from their King.

It has been reported that during his previous presidential term their queen gave him the same offer.

This time however, after meeting with the British representative from the UK and receiving that letter Trump proceeded to put the declaration of independence up in his office.

Trump is picking up where Bush 2 left off with the NAU North American Union and the Amero.

No actually Trump has just rebalanced the power so that we are no longer Canada's vassal.

April 2 is going to be a great day. They are calling it liberation day.

Since the Confederate States of America wasn't a monarchy, your "citation of precedent" here us totally invalid. And silly.

And in English those things are territories. Only Ebonics calls them "territorys".

Well when we went to war with Mexico, the "uncrowned monarch" signed a treaty with the United States, we annexed Texas.

Polk oversaw the greatest territorial expansion of the United States to date.

Trump isn't going to allow Canada to take from us and make us their vassal and has threatened to make Canada our 51st state.

Make America British Again
We would probably make it more like the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo which their citizens can choose between becoming American citizens or being British citizens and leaving the annexed territory.

Because that goes without saying, and he likely only wants parts like Alberta, he's saying the whole thing as a negotiating position he can "compromise" to get what he wants out of the other side.

Utter nonsense, he doesn't need to draw a distinction, legal processes will function just fine in either and we will obviously use our version.

> The third is this (Commonwealth offer from Charlene III)

Trump is just being diplomatic, he will not accept the offer because there is nothing in it for us.
The Queen offered the same thing in his last term and nothing came of it.
After getting the offer he put up the Declaration of Independence in his WH office as a subtle rejection message.

As long as there are one and one third of a million lawyers in this country who are paid to look for loopholes, nothing government does can be considered to "go without saying". And when you use the word "likely", that's a major red flag.

Because it won't cause any problems at all when someone sues the person who damaged the roof of his car British style and the American defense attorney introduces the undamaged engine access hatch into evidence.

"That's not the hood, you blighter. That's the bonnet."

He said he would be open to it but you say he won't. No, you aren't calling him diplomatic. You're calling him a liar.

Yes, there are often a lot of lies involved in diplomacy, but that doesn't make telling lies "being diplomatic".

And no, I'm not going to tell you how I split your post up.

If Canada or parts thereof join the US they will no longer be allowed by the Constitution (or likely the terms of the Commonwealth) to be members of the Commonwealth.

The court will not be unable to deal with people using different words, that could already happen and isn't a problem.

Diplomacy involves many polite lies, it may involve more lies than truth, Trump is saying he's open to the idea in order to be polite and not rebuke Charlene III publicly for suggesting that we give up our independence and return to the Empire.
He then put up the DoI as a signal to deniably rebuke Charlene III for the suggestion, and he made sure it got in the news that he put it up.

It's amazing how seldom you ever say anything other than, this is what you think Trump is thinking and if we dare think Trump is thinking something other than what you say Trump is thinking, then we are unpatriotic idiots.

It's the other way around. This is Trump's idea and HE asked Charles about it.

Trump wants to consolidate the power in the Judeo-Anglosphere under one system.
