I am overwelmed by the amount of tax information

we have the irs saying we have to pay income tax.
we have private citizens saying we don't.
we have irs agents saying we have to pay income tax.
we have former irs agents saying we don't have to pay income tax.

to file my tax return i have two choices, file blindly either because i don't care anymore or because i trust the irs 1040 instructions as accurate. my second option is to somehow weed through possibly millions of documents, which took one irs agent two years. i could hire a lawyer to spend two years going over the millions of documents. if you think i have enough money for that you're nuts.

what do i do? who can i trust? those tax filing firms are not exactly out to prove this for me. they want me to pay up and quick so they can move on to their next victim...errr custumer.

and we all know jury nulification is unreliable.

it sounds to me like every man, woman, and child is forced to become lawyers and tax accountants solely for the perpose of not getting screwed by the government.

I think that's the point. It isn't fair but the only constant is change. That's what truly scares those in charge right now. The more we educate each other and the more we stand together the less control they have over us. Get them to show their cards and the people will wake up....maybe
