YES!!!! There are now just 2 left. One is the real deal, and the other isnt very liked.

Is it now possible that Ron Paul will get some recognition and support from the GOP? Just imagine Paul getting hoisted into people livingrooms starting tommorow! He will be new and fresh to most, and people will see they have a real choice. There will still be a convention no matter what from what I understand. It is still not over yet as the delegates dont even vote until then, so McCains 1000+ isnt really a firm number yet.

either way, this doesn't surprise me that Huckabee is dropping out, there's really no point him him running anymore, especially with McCain having all the delegates that he does.

There's not going to be a Convention. Well, a Convention where the Nominee is going to be disputed, at least. McCain, for all intents and purposes, is the official nominee after tonight. The wins in Vermont, Ohio, Texas and Rhode Island gave McCain more than the 1,191 delegates needed to win the nomination, according to media delegate counts. I read that Bush is expected to endorse him at the White House tomorrow.

Today, is officially the day that our campaign is over.

I guess I have no choice to go over to Obama now, as I am sure as Hell not casting my vote for McCain. We just need to pray that Ohio, Texas, and Pennsylvania don't screw this thing completely up make Hillary the nominee.

Hillary vs McCain ... if it comes to that, the country should demand to start the election over again.

One thing is for sure. Republican voters are going to get a Huge Wakeup call after they lose the General Election.

Either way, according to politico.com Huckabee didn't just drop out...he dropped out and endorsed McCain. Yuck! I wasn't expecting that.

You mean even if John McCain dies, he's still going to run in the general election? Or if he drops out due to a good swiftboating, he'll still be the Republican nominee? Or if as Devvy Kidd says, mountains of evidence of vote fraud releases the "bound" delegates to vote for whoever they want, John McCain is still going to be the nominee?

Then it's odd that the media is still showing Romney's delegates as 200+ on TV tonight. I thought if you dropped out, you no longer had delegates. Weird!

Mitt Romney’s five sons, says it’s ‘possible’ his father may rejoin the race for the White House.” Earlier this month, Romney “suspended” his campaign and endorsed Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) bid a week later. But Romney has yet to comment on the recent New York Times article on McCain’s close ties to lobbyists and “still retains control of the nearly 300 delegates he’s already won.”

So I'm assuming for now that he didn't actually officially drop out.... his campaign is still in a state of suspension. Now why would he keep his options open? Is something going to "happen" to McCain? Maybe a good swift boating?
