"Finally, compared to Mr. Thompson's lifetime ACU rating of 86.1 and Mr. Frist's 87.8, worth noting is Arizona Sen. John McCain's 82.3. Also worth noting are the lifetime ACU ratings of so-called "second-tier" Republican presidential candidates: Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback, 94.0; California Rep. Duncan Hunter, 92.0; Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo, 97.8; and Texas Rep. Ron Paul, 82.3."

Anyone know what causes Paul not to get 100%? It probably has something to do with the "social conservative" BS big government interference that our good doctor would never agree to.

I would say the way that they define what is conservatism is flawed.

For example: Paul voted against banning lawsuits against gun manufacturers. They would consider this liberal or unconservative as evidenced by the NRA holding this against him (as if he were anti-gun), however it IS conservative because Paul's reasoning would prohibit government favortism to any industry

Yup. How conservative is the ACU?

I'd like to see how they rate Congressman Jeff Flake, I think is his name, who is rated number 1 at 90% or higher ( I can't remember) with NTU.

My internet connection is slow for some reason, I can't check the ntu site.

Yes. That's part of the reason I prefer libertarianism to conservatism - they are similar, but there are some pet issues that conservatives feel are worth curtailing liberty to protect.

Nah, not real ones. Ain't no such thing as a "social conservative". Either you're for small government and the Constitution, or you aren't. Period. And if you aren't, you cannot rightfully call yourself a conservative.

well who cares about the ACU, ron paul gets 100% from the John Birch Society, Cannabis Culture magazine and the Christian Coalition.

Ron Paul supporter since 1979

Well, my eyes must be playing tricks on me, because I see a 76 for Paul from the Christian Coalition.

well, i got that from a leftist blog.

Then, there's the 100% legislative ranking Paul got from Cannabis Culture magazine -- a fact that lifts liberal spirits everywhere, and is very consistent with his libertarian views. But we shouldn't let that blind us to the fact that he also got 100% rankings from both the Christian Coalition and the John Birch Society -- two entities far more powerful and serious than Cannabis Culture,, and which actively wish ill on people like us. Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson actively helped midwife Paul's budding political career: according to the New York Times, his political teams were circulating campaign letters promoting Paul over Bush I as a presidential candidate all the way back in 1988.

but in checking that out i found this list

very interesting how many 0% ron paul gets. and he does get regular 100% ratings from the john birch society and all pro-arab pro-muslim groups.

The fact that he is CFR should tell you everything you need to know on the subject.

and he does get regular 100% ratings from the john birch society and all pro-arab pro-muslim groups.

He gets a 100% from the John Birch Society because of his constitutional voting record. What's more, they list the legislation, their take on it and how each rep. voted. It's a pretty darn good scorecard and you sure can tell exactly what is going into the total grade they give the person. Take a look at the latest Conservative Index:

Fred Dalton Thompson is planning to enter the presidential race over the Fourth of July holiday, announcing this week that he has already raised several million dollars and is being backed by insiders from the past three Republican administrations, Thompson advisers told The Politico.

Ron Paul needs to bring this up in a debate should Fred actually appear at one.
