Video of the 1983 congressional baseball game is making the rounds on social media today thanks to a mad-skills at-bat by former Republican and former presidential candidate Ron Paul, then hailed by commentators, including Barney Frank, as the “premier gynecologist” on the field.

“Dr. Paul is a legendary player in the annual Congressional Baseball Game, being the only person to ever hit a home run over the fence in the game’s 50 year history,” writes YouTube user bxtidre7′s channel in the “About” section of the video.

The video, which so far has garnered more than 100,000 views, comes on the heels of the annual congressional baseball game Wednesday in which the Democrats again defeated the Republicans (though by a much smaller margin than last year).

Fast forward to the 2:30 to see Paul on the plate.

On the field or off, he is always hitting "home runs".

I'll say it again: the man is a national treasure.

That's some of the better video I have seen of Ron Paul playing baseball. The other video was very blurry, but IIRC he homered in that video at least once.
