"Ron Paul Suggests He Might Be Willing to Support Gingrich as the Nominee"

hx xp://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/01/ron-paul-suggests-support-for-gingrich.html

About 15 minutes into the NBC Republican candidate debate in Florida, Brian Williams recognized Ron Paul's presence. Williams asked him if Newt Gingrich emerged as the GOP nominee, would Paul run as a third party candidate. Ron Paul said no.
Then Williams shifted on that subject and asked Paul, "Would you support Newt Gingrich as nominee of the GOP?"
Paul's response: "He keeps hinting about attacking the Fed, and he talks about gold, and if I could just change him on foreign policy, we might be able to talk business."
Implied by the back-and-forth was the idea that Paul would not win the nomination, but nevertheless, Paul answered honestly. Williams asked Gingrich if he would be willing to adjust his stance to get an endorsement from the Texas congressman.
"Well I got one on Friday from Governor Perry which I liked a lot," Gingrich said. "So I like endorsements from Texas."

Ron would never support Gingrich. Gingrich has already called Ron Paul dangerous then said he would have a hard time choosing between Ron Paul and Obama.

I honestly think Ron is trolling Gingrich into flip flopping, and also trying to bring more people a little closer to him by saying things like this so the MSM can't say that his ideas are radical.

He was just joking around about it...he was clear that he is in it for the long haul and that it's only been 3 states and delegates matter more.

Personally, I Hope he runs third party

You have to be kidding. He was repeating what he said before. He has consistently said that if Romney or another came over to his side on Foreign policy then he would consider supporting them.

No, you have to be kidding.

The issue isn't his consistency. It's his consistent answer to this question. He should simply state, "I'll won't support any of the other candidates for the same reasons I won't support the current president" and leave it at that. No need to concede, "Well, I might support them if they come my way." Even though it's his honest answer he doesn't have to say it. It's a poor political decision.

If he says no, then he will be further cast out as a anti-gop candidate, someone sabotaging the party, as Limbaugh once eluded too, he doesn't want that, he wants to be friendly.

worst answer Ron has ever given.

No, it wasn't. Its clear he wants Gingrich to win Florida, as it would be bad for Romney. He understands that Gingrich is inherently flawed, and wants him to siphon off delegates at this stage. After Florida he heads to NV and other caucus states to build his delegate count.

you guys are seriously annoying the shit out me!!!! stop talking about ron endorsing anyone for crying out loud!!!!!!!!!!! we should be arguing over which candidate left will be endorsing ron!

Ron knows that he's most likely going to be positioned as the kingmaker at the convention. Good strategy would be to make it clear to Newt and Mitt that there is room for dialogue, and let them both vie for his blessings. If Ron does end up winning, he won't need them; but if he doesn't, they'll both potentially need him.

If he doesn't win the GOP nomination I would love to see him run third party. On debate stage against Obama and Gingrich he would make them both look like the fools they are.
