I just called for the first time about this issue. "My" congressman is probably going to vote for it. But not to worry, the kid who answered the phone said that it would "create jobs" and "reduce our dependence on foreign oil".

I contacted both of Arizona's Senators (McCain, Kyl) and 4 of our Representatives (Kirkpatrick AZ-1, Franks AZ-2, Shadegg AZ-3 and Flake AZ-6). The other 4 Reps. can't be e-mailed by people outside their district. My mom called the offices of all 10 of them.

my congressman, Lloyd Doggett(TX-25) was undecided last night..

if he votes in favor he is going to get a lot more calls from me..

I am located in the People's International Compassionate Socialist Republic of California. I have no representation.

So, only 9 forum members have taken 3 minutes to call their representative about this horrible legislation? :(

Well, you other folks deserve what you get.

I agree, if there's an icecube's chance in hell of getting them to vote against it, please call them.

My rep was going to vote yes, until his phones lit up as soon as his office opened.

By 10am he had decided to vote NO.

It CAN be done, folks!

It's NOT too late.

Did he explain how it will do either? I can't figure it out...

Emailed earlier in the day and I just got confirmation that tim johnson district 15 is a NO. Woot Woot! He was one of the possible yes's to.

Mine is voting yes.. even if every one of his constituents called him in opposition. He's a Democrat and is solidly behind Obama.

Until we can mobilize hundreds or even thousands of people to protest at every congress critters office then they'll just ignore us. Calling, e-mailing, etc like we did for TARP doesn't accomplish anything other than making us feel good.

As long as the CFL sends us e-mails telling us to call -- we're just spinning wheels. When they start sending us e-mails saying "show up at location xyz with a sign and x00 people will be there to protest with you" then we'll start seeing some serious progress.

Butterfield?

It would be a waste of time, all my elected officials openly show their disproval of cap and trade.
