From the Ron Paul institute for Peace and Prosperity:

"Regime 'Libertarians' Call for Cato Blood"

. . .

The article by Daniel McAdams goes on to say how so many supposedly pro-freedom think tanks are actually bought and paid for to promote US military interventionism. I have personally come to this conclusion several years ago, by following work and frequently arguing with libertarian think tankers in Europe and around the globe. These are largely individuals with no real jobs, trying to succeed as professional think tankers and journalists, financed by Atlas Network, Friedrich Naumann Foundation, etc., and must parrot mantra of their employers in order to put food on the table.

What say you? Has the libertarian movement been coopted?

No, not unless you consider misusing the name of a thing to be synonymous with coopting the entirety of the thing.

You used a capital "L" in your headline. Has the Libertarian Party been co-opted? The answer is yes. The Mises Caucus is trying to change that.

On the question of beltway libertarians, which Daniel McAdams is referring to, yes, they have long been "corrupted" by globalist corporatist interests who pay the bills. Students for Liberty was mentioned (a Koch organization), and they are a globalist entity, which by the way, attempted to subvert and replace YAL.

The "Libertarian International" has its snout deep in the money trough of the US State Department, NATO-funded Atlantic Council, and the cancerous Sorosian global empire. Each of these signatories should feel the wrath of the scholars they have shamefully maligned.

The only "movements" I'm aware of are the ones I typically have in the morning. And they can be quite liberating.

Thank you! That now finally makes sense to me, as I was confused how they used the name Students for Liberty and YAL focus was kinda pushed aside.

There are certainly institutions within this sphere that have been, yes. As mentioned above, the LP certainly was co-opted by your standard fare leftists and, again as stated above, the MC is trying to recapture it. Entities like CATO have always been questionable due to their origins and/or funding. Even Reason magazine has, at times, been suspect. There are numerous other examples.

Thank you! What is your view of Atlas Network?

To be quite honest with you, I'm not familiar with what that is or who they are. So, I'll refrain from making any statements about them. Sorry, I can't provide anymore than that.
