Forty two years ago today the XXIIII amendment to our US Constitution was ratified.

Section 1
" The right of the citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay any POLL TAX or Other Tax.

Section 2. The congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation...

The end of the Poll Tax..

Now if we could over turn the 16thA and get rid of the Direct tax.... That would be something to celebrate.

The income tax in an indirect tax enforced as a direct tax.

The income tax has always been an indirect tax except for a patently erroneous 1895 SCOTUS decision that categorized a tax on investment income as a direct tax.

Getting rid of the 16th won't help, since the income tax is authorized by Article I, Section 8.

Those darned Romans and their tricky numerals....

Yup. The number 0 is not represented in Roman Numerals...

Direct tax itself isnt Unconstitutional, problem is it is direct and Apportioned, meaning different people pay different taxes for the same thing.

Neither a direct nor an indirect tax is unconstitutional. But the income tax is an excise, an indirect tax. Just enforced in an unconstitutional way.

And yet the IRS and DOJ unconstitutionally applies it as a direct tax upon the financial competency of those whom are not small-business or self-employed.
