So both Rand and Kelley will be coming out with books in the spring. Safe to say that Rand has been given the go ahead to run for president by his family.

Senator Rand Paul hit a fundraiser in East Hampton Saturday night -- for the public library, not his own coffers.

“We have some friends up here,” the Kentucky Republican said of his visit to the resort area, where Hillary Clinton is in temporary residence and Senator Ted Cruz has a fundraiser scheduled for Friday. “They invited us to meet some of their friends. It’s not really official fundraising so much.”

Paul, who has said he’s thinking about running for president in 2016, and his wife Kelley came to Author’s Night with Kate Hartson, an executive editor at Hachette Book Group. She has a home in Hampton Bays and spent the weekend with the Pauls, including a boat tour and fishing in Montauk.

Hachette publishes Paul, his dad, former presidential candidate Ron Paul, and, soon, his wife.

“I’m doing a book that’s a collection of essays about women of inspiration,” Kelley Paul said. It’s “mainly about my grandmother,” she said.

“The book is called ‘True and Constant Friend.’ It’s set for publication next spring,” Hartson said, adding that their Hamptons itinerary included working on photos for the book.

I am so looking forward to First Lady Kelley Paul.

So sick of Michelle Obama. I am guessing 90% of kids hate her, even counting those with liberal parents.

geez... way to twist the facts

 Geez breitbart, can you twist a story much?!

BOB VANDER PLAATS CRITICIZES RAND PAUL FOR SKIPPING FAMILY LEADERSHIP FORUM TO FUNDRAISE WITH 'RICH AND FAMOUS by CHARLIE SPIERING
13 Aug 2014
At last weekend’s Family Leadership Summit in Iowa, Sen. Rand Paul was noticeably absent among presidential hopefuls attending the event.

But Bob Vander Plaats went out of his way to excuse the Kentucky Senator’s absence, explaining that he had a “family commitment” that he had to attend.

Vander Plaats told the crowd that since the Family Leadership organization was all about family, he understood.

But his attitude changed after finding out that Paul attended a fundraiser for a library in East Hampton on Saturday, co-sponsored by actor Alec Baldwin.

"From my perspective, there are always choices to be made of where do you want to be and what message do you want to send," Vander Plaats told The Des Moines Register. "If you want to be at a fundraiser in the Hamptons with the rich and famous, you probably ought to tell people you want to be at a fundraiser in the Hamptons with the rich and famous."

According to a Paul aide, Paul was with his wife and one of his sons for a family event - and that the fundraiser was an additional event.

Photos of Rand Paul at party in the Hamptons catch Iowans' attention
August 12, 2014
...Aides for Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, told The Des Moines Register this evening that Paul and his wife, Kelley, did indeed have a family commitment. It was in New York, and they took one of their three sons with them. The party with Baldwin was just an extra event on the itinerary for the weekend.

Paul and his family stopped by the library fundraiser Saturday night at the request of their publisher/editor, Doug Stafford, Paul's political advisor, told the Register.

Kate Hartson of Hachette Book Group publishes Paul and his father and will soon release a book by his wife, Bloomberg News reported. "(Hartson) has a home in Hampton Bays and spent the weekend with the Pauls, including a boat tour and fishing in Montauk," Bloomberg reported...

...Paul was a sponsor of the Family Leadership Summit and sent a video - a compilation of his recent pro-life speeches - to be shown at the conference.

And after the Register reached out to the Paul team today, an aide emailed Vander Plaats to reassure him the senator did have a family commitment in New York.

"I guess I can understand as Darla and I have a family commitment in New York beginning tomorrow," Vander Plaats said, referring to his wife.

Democrat Hillary Clinton was also in Hamptons at a fundraiser Saturday; hers was for the Clinton Foundation. And Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, another Republican eyeing a White House bid, will be in the Hamptons for a fundraiser later this week....

Right and left wings flap in unison at Hamptons bash
August 11, 2014
...The biggest surprise among the intellectual elite at the East Hampton Library fund-raiser — co-sponsored by liberal Alec Baldwin — on Saturday afternoon was the conservative triumvirate of Rand Paul, Bill O’Reilly and George Pataki, who all showed up as guests.

While Hillary Clinton was at a fund-raiser for the Clinton Foundation in nearby Water Mill, collecting up to $50,000 per couple, Sen. Paul (R-Ky.) was schmoozing for free and getting tips on where to go in Montauk for a lobster roll.

When informed that Gosman’s Dock — recommended by O’Reilly — was avoided by the locals, who prefer Duryea’s, Paul said, “I can’t believe O’Reilly was sending me to a tourist trap.” Both men are friends of novelist Nelson DeMille, who was signing copies of “The Quest.”...

all eyes on the frontrunner I guess...

Well I guess Bob VanderPlaat's definition of a "family event" is a lot different than Rand's. The only problem is, VanderPlaats controls the votes.
