Gov. Branstad was on Meet The Press this morning and pundits kept asking him about Newt this & Romney that and he instead answered, Ron Paul is the only one leading (talking about cutting spending like he's doing in Iowa). No Joke!

Hoping for a Tube. He mentioned him twice (once when asked about the other candidates and then again when asked about his popularity on Twitter later in the show).

Campaign should be trying to contact him! If he is voluntarily mentioning Ron, I'm hoping an endorsement isn't out of the realm of possibility. He was good to the Dr. at the forum a few weeks ago too.

He also said he has concerns about Ron's foreign policy at the very end...I think he is being diplomatic about Paul because he knows at least 1/3 of the iowa gop is behind him....

A sit down meeting with the Governor about foreign policy would make a lot of sense right now.

He has been quite harsh with regards to his foreign policy in the past. No way he endorses Ron but the mere fact that he is not being a roadblock is very good.

Absolutely. Considering Ron has the influence in the Iowa GOP, the Governor would be smart to sit down with Ron.

Bingo. We have to explain it to people in simple forms. I'm about to go make a speech on this issue to NH insiders. I hope I make the case that Ron Paul's foreign policy is a constitutional sound foreign policy.

What has he said that was harsh? The only thing I've heard is that he "disagrees" or "misguided" at the worst.

"But I don't agree with him on foreign policy, at all. I'm real concerned with his views on that."

Regardless of the outcome of this election cycle the politically savvy are aware Dr. Paul could be a king maker for years to come.

Then a sit down seems appropriate. The Governor has also said "the economy is the number one issue". They don't have to agree on everything. At the very least reaching out won't hurt.

Someone should tell the governor if he could back H.R. Gross and Burke Hickenlooper for high office as a young Iowan, he can back Ron Paul. Because these men all share the same foreign policy views.

Why should foreign policy be an issue for a governor?

The fact that he is a governor is irrelevant. When making his choice on endorsing a candidate for president he does have to take into account foreign policy. I just hope he puts that on the back burner.

Well he is only being asked his opinion because he is governor. I'd think a governor should weigh domestic policy and how it affects his state primarily. I doubt there are many potential foreign terrorist targets in Iowa.

Well if Canada invades Iowa he is the C&C of the Iowa National Guard until congress declares war. But yeah, it shouldn't be a major issue....

yeah, i get what you mean but i think he's being asked because he has influence in the Iowa GOP. He is being asked to comment on a presidential candidate so he does have to take into account all facets of the presidency.
