I know it is highly unlikely, however I thought I would float it.
Why doesn't the campaign approach Romney with a deal. Offer him a Cabinet seat if he will bow out before Super Tuesday and Endorse Paul. I know it sounds kinda crazy, but hear me out.
Romney has spent millions of dollars from supporters and his own pocket and has been rejected. Maybe he has realized this, or maybe he is just bull headed. However he does have a fairly large base of support. Those supporters could easily accept Paul as their choice, if Romney had a "revelation" about the irresponsibility of McCain's foreign policy. He could tout how Paul's Strong National Defense is the closest one to the prudent FP of Reagan, and in the Economic climate, we must make tough spending cuts in Foreign policy and Domestic Policy.
Paul could go further to explain how he is the only candidate with a broad appeal to Fiscal, Social, and National Security conservatives. How he is the only candidate who can bring the Conservative Coalition together. And that is our only chance to beat the Dems in a year when they are energized to vote out of hatred for Bush. We must energize our conservative coalition in all sectors, and redefine the party as the only Responsible choice in order to steal the Independents from the Dems and win.
