I don't know if "terrified" is the right qualifier, but that aside, the explanation is simple: the globalists cannot suffer even small variations of opinion from their vision of monobloc governance. Theye require one vision with all public expressions in strict lockstep with the official line. There is nothing new there as virtually all despots of the so-called "modern" era have held similar requirements for their proles and functionaries alike. The modern despot understands well that ideas pose the greatest threat to their hegemonic designs, and must therefore be eliminated at nearly any cost. What Theye fear most is a population that begins to think beyond the guard rails put up to contain them within the perceptual chutes intended to keep populations obedient.
